    Something To Think About

I have a message to share with prospective authors. If you go into writing a story---be it as a living, or just for fun---don't automatically assume that what you're doing is wholly original.

    Tired, Running On Empty

That pretty much summarizes my mental state of the past few days. Constantly tired (half due to not getting enough sleep and half due to my walking regimen), and I can't really think of things I want to write for the story. You know you're having trouble finding things to talk about when your brain fishes for tuna, but ends up with guppies instead.

    So INCREDIBLY FRUSTRATED Right Now

I copied the latest chapter of M.L.G. to my flash drive as usual. I took it home with the intent to post it today. I double-click the file.

How Curtis Wildcat Writes the World

Or, to put it another way, the rules I abide by when it comes to the stuff I write on this site. My mind doesn't necessarily function the same way everyone else's does, so there may be some discrepancies. Have some background music in the meantime.

Something to Look Forward to in August

There've been a few comments in my most recent chapter of M.L.G. saying that they were curious about the "City-Wide Heartsong" plan I originally had for Illudere's battle. Obviously I can't go back and make that huge a change to the story, but what I can do is start planning ahead for the Third-Anniversary Chapter in August.

Sometimes I Wonder · 4:15am Aug 19th, 2021

I have to wonder sometimes what drives me to do certain things.

A day or two ago, I got it into my head to write a crossover between MLP and Mega Man Zero. No prior warning, just out of the blue---"Send Fairy Leviathan to Manehattan!"---BOOM, there she is. Completely impulsive. And now because of my decision, I have to work on a slew of original characters for the setting. And I need to imagine in my head just how Leviathan would react to the situations I'm writing her into, trying my hardest not to deviate too far from her personality. I just made a whole lot of work for myself.

It's the last thing I needed, honestly. I've been having my fair share of distractions recently, mostly on the health front but also on the gaming front (finally took the leap and purchased Smash Ultimate). I'm wrapping up a No Deaths Run of Mega Man X on my channel, so that's been taking up a lot of my time. There's also a wholly original story I've been working on since early this year, and I need to get back to that at some point. Did I need to do this to myself? No, I didn't.

...

But is it starting to look more and more like a fun challenge?

...

...

:pinkiehappy:

Just needed to get that off my mind. Ciao mein, everyone, and stay safe and sane.
