At long last, Season 1 of Superman & Lois is finished...man, that felt satisfying. Bad guys get what's coming, heroes come out on top even after the hell they've been put through, broken relationships mended. Left on a cliffhanger, but at least this one doesn't immediately bode ill.
Final thoughts? I've been saying that this is the best modern piece of non-comics Superman media...and I will firmly stand by that stance. After seeing how Superman's been written and portrayed in the DCEU, and with dark twisted parodies and “deconstructions” like Brightburn or The Boys’ Homelander or Invincible’s Omni-Man, to have a show like this feels like a godsend.
It GETS Superman. It gets who he is and who the people who support him, Lois Lane especially, are. Perhaps the overall story arc of the show may or may not work for some people, although I found myself liking it. But the show's biggest strength is ultimately its heart. Kinda like Superman himself.
9/10 overall. HIGHLY recommend, and I can’t wait to see what Season 2 has to offer.
This show has been a real godsend for sure. I'd definitely say that it's one of the best, if not THE best, thing to come out of the Arrowverse. Greatly enjoyed it and I'm delighted that the show managed to stick the landing!
