Well Everfree Northwest was a blast! All things considered, and my first convention of any kind in two years, it was a fun time. I got to meet several people from fimfiction. It's always nice to put a face to a name in lieu of an avatar. Ponystock rocked! There weren't many panels, it seemed, but I really liked all of the ones I attended, so I'm not going to complain. Can't wait for next year!
Now, who's excited for G5? 
I'm actually excited for it. The movie trailer was a feast for sure! With out giving away much of the story, they established the world pretty well. We see modern cities and technologies. And we know the ponies have split up and no longer live together in harmony. The earth ponies fear unicorns. The panic seen when Izzy shows up in the trailer might look like it's played up for laughs. But it also implies that maybe they were at war with each other. For the Pegasi we don't get much... maybe distrust? Either way the trailer did a lot to establish "this ain't G4, kids." And that's fine. G4 the ponies were living in like thatched roof houses. G5 we see pony Dance Dance Revolution. So it appears centuries have passed since the events of G4. They are doing that Star Trek thing where the next generation is set way into the future with totally new characters, and sometimes they will reference or find a way to bring back an original series character.
I gotta say, I am here for this! Even if the movie turns out to be just okay, the fanfic potential will be dynamite!

But am I excited for G5? Honestly... I am far more excited for the next Season of Centaurworld.

Damn it! I forgot about that. Ugh trying to make a point and I use a weak argument. Regardless, it appears we are seeing a more mechanized and technological world than G4. Or was Ponyville just a strange throw-back village? I'm curious to find out how far that goes, and how much time has passed. And, magic doesn't work? Interesting... also where's Twilight?
So many hypothesis, so many fanfic ideas, I can't wait!
I suppose I could be described as excited, yes; certainly, I'm optimistic and interested to see it! :)
