So, i haven't been releasing perma on schedule, and that's because i realized after the fact that my last journal was a fuckup.
Hype's been an emotional mess ever since i posted it, but also insisted i keep it up because of that stupid tag i gave it. 2177 ALR.
so we made a deal.
If any of my stories make it to the feature box, Hype promised me that the account will be created that same day. if you're wondering how we know one another, don't bother, just know this would've been hype's account had i not camped this name beforehand. there's a few other accounts under this name that said nerd actually does control, but if i find out that you're harassing someone close to me due to my stupid fucking mistake, i swear to everything i hold dear i will nuke this account. don't fucking test me, i'm already on edge from my previous mistake, so i'll probably just do it without thinking as usual. if you care about my work, or just human decency in general, please don't seek which ones are me and which ones are my friend.
but more seriously, i want to give you a preview of what's to come.
2177 ALR was a project started by hype and a few close colaborators in order to bring hope to the fandom. the big softie couldn't stand the thought that the only major AUs seemed to be ones where everything had gone to shit, and quite specifically, hype wanted to change that. the lack of hope that never seemed to shine through for either of us in settings like Fallout: Equestria, or well... Fall of equestria either.
that's why i joined up with a bunch of CTS authors. that was my half of the offensive. make a world so wonderful, nobody would even want to look at a setting like Fall or ETS ever again. and unfortunately, i was sure hype would be right behind me, without thinking of the kind of pressure that would put on everyone in our group...
originally it was supposed to be out before Cyberpunk 2077. but that all ended up changing when hype got tossed up on stage for reasons i can't comprehend at BC18. that one day turned a beacon of light in my life into a stammering mess. yeah. hype actually does turn into fluttershy when overwhelmed, but as many a shrink that has analyzed pony will tell you, S1 fluttershy was deeply traumatized. it's cute, sure. if you don't care what makes someone that way.
i do though, and hype was better. was. and i'd never ask anyone to forgive me for changing that... but i really hope everyone's telling me the truth this time, because i'll follow that advice i was given by larson at 2018's BC. on how to succeed as a writer. Dive straight in, don't give a fuck, and just keep fighting until you win.
By the way. the ALR stands for After Luna's Return, but it could just as easily be a generic acronym. outside of the refferences taken from the base MLP universe, this setting may as well be cut from whole cloth, to the point where even if the big H did decide to try and shut my friends up, all it would take would be a simple find and replace, and the whole setting is independent. just how we all wanted it to be.
oh, and for those who might reconize me from a certain other somewhere...
until then, may all of your twisted metal dreams come true
