Average brony obsessing over the main cast with an unhealthy desire to see them in a dark fantasy setting.

A reflection: Dawn of the Deep Soul

Made in Abyss has always been something that stood out in my mind as a fantasy world I love to see, wish could've been mine, but know I could have never been the author of.

The End of Evangelion, but for real this time.

Well. I just watched the final Evangelion rebuild movie, 3.0+1.0: Thrice upon a time. In a way it felt like when I finished Super. An end to a project that had gone on far too long, but was satisfying in that it was finished and it was finished in the way I wanted it to be finished.

    Visuals - 10/10

    The end to an era

Well, that's it. All she wrote. The story to a close. The end of the end. The tale of the Great Pretender is complete.

    Extension and Recovery

So, Just Around the Corner is out now, and as such, I've decided to split the final chapter of Super in an effort to push myself to actually get the damn thing done. You can now read the first half of it, titled 'Finale IX: Vengeance' and I'm hoping to get the next half out next week now that I've: recovered from whatever

This time, it was only kinda my fault.

:ajsleepy: If you've been paying attention, you might notice that Super is still incomplete. There are multiple reasons for this.

    1) I lost an entire day's worth of work on it. It didn't save, it never auto saved during the multiple hours I worked on it, or whatever, that whole day was just gone when I went to work on it the next day.

The End of Evangelion, but for real this time. · 10:29am August 13th

Shit was trippy as hell, made good use of the financial struggles of the original, on top of playing with crazy superimposition of the real world.

Story - 5/10
Ever write a scene that's just really used to get your 'message' across? That was this whole movie. By no means did this feel character or action driven, it was for and about the message, which, all things considered, was alright. Doesn't make for a great story though.

Characters - 6/10
It did with the characters what it had to do. I like what the did with Shinji and Gendo, but that was basically what had to happen. Everything else was just kinda there. It was nice, but not of much value. Some characters were more cardboard than anything else.

Overall - 8/10
The visuals carry it hard, I was glued to the scree because taking my eyes away for a second meant missing something. It feels good to know there's an EVA out there with a happy ending, and that EVA is truly, finally, over.

The entire third arc of Super was inspired by this series as I quite literally stole some of the monsters from this show and threw super ponies at them. I love Eva, End of Evangelion will always mean more to me, but this movie is a nice cap to the series. Much like Code Geass R2, it takes what could've been a trainwreck and triple axels into a perfect landing.

Yeah. I figured I'd share my thoughts here since it's kind of a big part of what I write.
