That was what I thought too, it felt very generic action story. That said, it does look like fun.
I'll be honest, the intro gave me wind waker vibes, in a round about way. Like how he starts off with in the distant past stuff, same as granny's story in WW. I'd guess the connections in the series will be similar too, legends passed down with only a few notable locations visible and maybe some artifacts.
Either way, there is alot of plot potential. I'm pretty excited!
I mean it looks...ok. It's definitely not for my demographic but I can see plenty of kids having fun watching this.
Side note: Looks like all of twilight's efforts to unite everyone in harmony was for nothing

Agreed. I know some people are like "who would even look at pony butts?" and it's like, folks, most of us have been here since the early days of G4, and it was ALL about that plot. Songs were written about it, jokes were made, everyone laughed or at least was in on the joke. So yeah, butts are a go-to when a new series comes out.
Hmm, the animations look pretty gorgeous... The trailer is pretty generic 'Disney'ish' over-the-top stuff that doesn't tell you much, so it's hard to judge anything else. In any case, I'm not canceling my Netflix until I watch it.
And as for the 'woke' part - I've recently seen Terminator Dark Fate that was supposed to be so 'woke' it hurt your eyes. It wasn't, not to me anyway. Unless Hasbro tries to push stuff down our throats, I think G5 gonna be OK.

At the very least we can make their butts super thick in fanfiction/fan arts. Or write about a story where the unicorns grow much larger after getting their magic back, and get super thick asses.

To be fair, Celestia is... unique, and so is her majestic rump. If you make all butts big, you'll lose that special feeling about it
All they have to do is copy G4's approach. FiM was pretty 'woke' if you think about it but in a good way. It was selling lessons about friendship, diversity, and stuff and addressing some real-world issues without being preachy. If Hasbro continues with this approach, no one gonna complain.
Nothing but to wait and see.
