Who did you side with? Note, Fallout New Vegas has many endings. Including the Psychopath Ending where you basically go around killing everyone. You can even become dictator of New Vegus.
I chose Mr House. I believe, considering the awful state of the Fallout universe that he's basically humanity's best hope for survival. However, I hated that I had to wipe out the Brotherhood of Steel. If I didn't pick Mr House, I would pick the New California Republic. I think that's the canon ending.
In my second play through I decided to side with the Legion for the lolz. The evil faction. Slavery, genocide, crucifixion basically. Yeah.... they clearly made out to be the bad guys.
In Fallout 4 I choose the Brotherhood of Steel, fuck the other factions. I got Liberty Prime to destroy the Institute. The Institute kind of reminded me of Friendship is Optimal in some regards with their love of machines and the fact they replace people with them. So I was hell bent on killing every single one of them.

Play through 3 Legion
Play through 4 Yes man
I’ve never gone psychopath on the game as that’s not my style. As for Fallout 4, I’ve only ever completed it once with the brotherhood ending.
I personally went with the NCR because to be honest yes they do have their problems but they are actually trying to help the people of new Vegas unlike house

I was considering the joining the NCR in my fist play through, but Mr House won me over when I spoke to him.

I think it's safe to say the NCR is the canon ending. Yeah, the NCR is not perfect. But at least they are a democracy. The Legion on the other hand is some sort of nightmarish militarily dictatorship that promotes slavery.

I think I dicked around for ages before doing the main quest line. I was kinda lost and confused. One of the first things I did was go north and get killed by Deathclaws near Quarry Junction. XD

In my most recent play through of the game I just used console commands, and gave myself the alien blaster to blast my way to the end game. XD
It hurts, did you spell new Vegas like that on purpose? I didn't think it was possible to to spell one of America's most popular city's incorrectly.

Hence why On every play through I get my best power armor the best energy weapons (I’m an energy weapon user) went to the fort and wipe them all out
