In 1942 in the aftermath of the bombing of Pearl Harbor the issue went out for the interment of all American Japanese by President Theodore Roosevelt, with the internment of thousands of Japanese into these camps life was hard, this story centers on a young boy named Kenji, who lived in this time and place, his family forced from their home, their livelihood. Kenji spends the next 2 years in Heart Mountain Relocation Center, till one winter he catches a fever which spirals out of control from poor medical attention, he only wishes to find happiness amongst all the suffering. He dies in that interment camp, but his wish is granted in a fashion he never expects. He finds himself in a place of his wishes, what happens next he will simply have to see.

One of my more depressing stories, isn't it? I can make some rather sad ones, this has been nagging in the back of my head and decided to suck up my fear and go through with the idea, it's still under production, but this is pretty clear isn't it?

As for Kenji in the song he didn't technically exist, but he was based off the singer's family who was around back then and such things happened tot them, the guy also happens to be one of the lead singers to Linkin Park.
