Ponyhenge is a patch of farmland off of Old Sudbury Road in Lincoln, Massachusetts where dozens of abandoned rocking horses have been left since 2010. No one knows who started it.

A somewhat less disturbing explanation. This happens to be the site of a prior dimensional quasi-rip in space time. Equestria and our universe briefly intersected, and a cutiecenera or similar celebration was going on. The superstitious locals saw what was going on and were so charmed by what they saw, that after the cross rip corrected itself, they then began placing pony effigies in the same location in order to coax the equestrians to return to the spot. Now, as to why they want the Equestrians to return, that might potentially be the disturbing part.

Note how almost all the rocking horses are pointing in the same direction. This is vitally important. If the two circles were to point in opposing polarities, the resulting aetheric tidal forces could very well shred open a portal to a more equinocentric reality.
