Shining and Shepherd: Survival 2 · 4:44am Jul 26th, 2021
Next they come across some timberwolves, that are blocking the only way across a river.
Shepherd: "Hmm... We need to get past them, but how?"
Shining: "Fighting them would just draw more of them down on us, so we need a way to distract them."
Shining was already plotting.
Shepherd: "Yeah but how?"
Shining shoves Shepherd into the open with his telekinesis. The timberwolves all look hungrily at the human as he hangs from the smug Shining's hoof via chains.
Shepherd: "Well Played."
Later, after Shepherd has beaten all of the timberwolves to pieces...
Shepherd: battered and bloody"... Okay, look. I get it. I hate you, you hate me. But if we keep being assholes to eachother, we won't be able to survive, all right?"
Shining: "... Fine."
Shepherd: "Fine."
Shining: "FINE."
Shepherd: "FINE!"
Shining: "FIIIINE!"
Shepherd: "Just so you know? If you die, I'm going to eat you."
Shining: "Yeah? If you die, I'll drop you like the trash you are."
Shepherd: "Good. Glad we understand one another..."
Shepherd: "Just so you know? If you die, I'm going to eat you."
Shining: "If you die, I'll do the same."
Shepherd: "Okay th... wait, what?"
Shining: "Oh, equines can and do eat meat from time to time. Did you not know that?"
Shepherd: "..."
Shining: "I'm married to the Princess of Love. I need a lot of protein."
Shepherd: "... yeah, I can see that."
Once they pulled themselves together, the timberwolves began the process of scratching symbols into numerous trees around their hunting grounds: a crude, but still recognizable, bipedal stick figure astride what was clearly a manticore, inside a circle with a diagonal line through it.
Upon seeing it for the first time, Zecora and Fluttershy shook their heads in disbelief.
Twilight was ecstatic at the implication that timberwolves had some measure of sentience.
Shepherd took pride in being banned from yet another place he never wanted to visit in the first place.
Either one of them: "If I die, you stay away from my funeral."
