Greetings, folks! This is yours truly back with another movie review! For today, I will be discussing what I really enjoyed out of this amazing comedy film called Imagine That. I really enjoyed myself watching this splendid piece of comedy art that features the wonderful performance of Eddie Murphy. To be frank, I am a little surprised this film is not that much appreciated or loved by the audience because I thought this was a great film to watch. *Sigh* I suppose you can never trust anything that comes out of Rotten Tomatoes.

Anyway, this film tells the story of a stressed financial advisor (played by Eddie Murphy) who is so caught up in his daily work that he spends little to barely any time with his daughter (played by Yara Shahidi). Furthermore, she is constantly in tune with her imaginary friends whom she talks to via her little blanket which not only causes her to lose track of reality but also drags her father into a new journey he would've never expected to encounter. Although he was very skeptical of it at first, he began to experience this magical journey through their wild imagination with the blanket. With it, it helped him to surprisingly help him cover any sort of business deals he had to uncover for a period of time.

What I really liked about this film was the message it conveyed: no matter how stressful or important our jobs may be, our relationship and time with our families is equally as important if not more important. This likewise applies to parents who need to spend more time with their children and not neglect them. To me, I thought it was a really relevant moral it did a great job conveying.

Eddie Murphy, as usual, nailed his performance in this movie with his hilarious personality, lines of dialogue, and acting style. Thomas Haden Church was likewise excellent in his role as Evan Danielson's rival: Johnny Whitefeather. Additionally, I liked the part where he attempted to actually gain some form of magical, imaginative experience with his own child so that he could get the answers he needed for the presentation... which, of course, didn't really work out for him. That scene really made me laugh. The rest of the acting was also top-notch, the cinematography was really great, and the story was very intriguing to sit through.

Overall, Imagine That is an amazing, underrated Eddie Murphy film that deserves a solid 10/10! I really wish it had a much higher score on Rotten Tomatoes with a lot more IMDb reviews, Huh, now imagine that!

Peace!
