I'm sorry, this week is getting to be too much · 5:07am Jul 13th, 2021
...
So, this hell week just keeps on kicking. Doing my best to get the notes expanded, two chapters to go but can't really focus no matter how hard I try.
In order of occurrence:
Dishwasher Failure. Still to be seen by repairer. That will be my Thursday. Unknown cost.
Discovery of lump on one of my parents' dogs (Saturday night and today was earliest op could be) and the logistical hoops I had to jump through just to get them to release money for the op (which is right now) while they are on the other side of the country.
Car throws a warning light unexpectedly. That will be my Friday. Unknown cost.
Dog under anesthesia apparently needs two teeth out as well...
I promise you all, I am trying so hard, but this is all getting very hard to carry. Getting so sick of my bad luck of late.
Dragging myself through it still, no matter how my meagre savings are hit, at least temporarily. Will get through it. Just got to do it. Dog needs it.
In no way asking for any money. Simply know that I am trying to get the expanded notes done and move to more published chapters for you all. This was meant to be the month I could truly get a lot done but it just keeps slamming me into the floor.
Just going to cry for a little while.
Tael.
*Edit* At least the dog has come through the surgery all right.
I’m sorry to hear you are having a bad week.

So am I. The good thing regarding the notes so far is that I am happy with them.
I keep telling myself that pain is good because pain proves that I'm still alive. But maybe I could do with a little less proof sometimes.
Hang in there. The wheel will turn and the good times will be back.
If you would like advice on the car warning light, I am a recognized expert. Some warnings are more about government regulation than any real danger.

Doing my best to look at it in such a way. It is more the sudden quadruple whammy of things, all with rather nebulous, potentially high costs involved. Considering how much the vet surgeries were, I'm glad they were done at the same time or the cost could have been an extra thousand on top. Let alone the risk of having to do general anesthesia an extra time on a dog approaching her thirteenth birthday.
With the car, it is to do with the traction control system. Though it doesn't make the car unsafe (just needs a little extra awareness until dealt with), it is still best to get it assessed. Getting it assessed is likely to eat most of the day just having that done unfortunately. But at least it will give answers.

Check your brake fluid. The system needs brake fluid to operate and will light that light when you run low.
The one important thing to watch out for is noises that arise at the same time as that light. All of the most common faults involve wheel speed sensors and a failing wheel bearing will often damage a speed sensor. If you hear a roaring or rumbling noise along with the light, get your wheel bearings checked promptly.

Was prepared for brake fluid or worn brake pads. Nope. Diagnostics revealed the cause to be an intermittently failing switch in the brake light system.
