    Finally An Apartment

Thanks to everyone of my friends help, their support, among other things, I was quick with being able to find an apartment for myself. I got extremely lucky finding a place the same day I got evicted, and was able to get things situated.

    I Need Help - Emergency

So to put it simply, I need help. Some things had been hidden from me until the very last moment, and at 5 pm on December 4th, I will be homeless unless I figure something out living situation-wise. Unfortunately, I have no way of fighting what is coming and have to resort to desperate measures, and that means swallowing my pride and asking for help.

    Story updates: Hiatuses

So as a lot of you know, I have quite a few stories under my belt, some of which are stuck in the incomplete stage and haven't been touched since Faust was in charge of G4. Naturally, this is due to a lot of things, mostly inconsistencies with my writing style evolving over time, work and stress irl, depression, and other factors that have otherwise hindered my writing.

Without You Sequel Poll · 2:00am Jun 29th, 2021

So if anyone's been following me for a bit, they'd know I had a sequel idea in mind for Without You. Now with it being (finally) finished after what feels like a decade, I can finally get to work on the sequel and hopefully have it on a regular updating schedule. However, I got some other stuff I need to finish first before I can actively work on it, specifically, A Volatile Mixture is a story I need to finish before I get fussed at.

It'll happen though.

In the meantime, I'm going to put up a poll here for people to vote on for what they would prefer to see in a sequel to Without You. Now I have a few ideas in mind already, but while it's not written up yet, I'm actually pretty eager to see what people would like to see.

I'm actually encouraging people to comment and tell me what they'd want to see, what they expect, and discuss ideas and stuff. I might even use a few of them, who knows.

So in this poll are a few of the ideas I have for the sequel, give it a click and vote, and in a week's time I'll look it over and we'll take it from there.

Because Strawpoll is dumb, I'm listing the options here, the poll is below!

  1. Option One: After the events of Raccoon City, with no way home, Dee and Rainbow begin a new life in the Resident Evil universe. But not all is all sunshine and rainbows, as they end up having to join the fight against global bioterrorism while simultaneously dealing with unique threats and problems only magic brings.
  2. Option Two: After the events of Raccoon City, Dee and Rainbow find that escaping the city isn’t as simple as they had hoped, as they find themselves immediately ripped from the world and thrust into one after the other, each one proving more disastrous than the last, and it’s up to the two to do whatever it takes to survive and find a way back home.

There's also an option for a third, which is to discuss what ideas you guys might have to add or throw my way, who knows.

Go nuts!

As the person who casted the first vote (Lucky right?), I have put my support for Option #1. As stated in a previous comment, this feels like the best way to naturally progress the plot of the universe because, as I understand it, Option #2 would abruptly have our main characters thrown into a different crossover of different types. I believe that this would negatively impact the story by the main cast being unable to interact with the world in a way that feels like it meant something. Allow me to try to clarify what I mean, if Dustin and Rainbow are suddenly yanked into another world, how would we be able to see how this changes the RE characters and if they might be able to assist in Dustin's adventure? I am sure that a few of them are going to have questions for Dustin about his knowledge and he would probably tell them as there is no benefit of hiding it anymore. How would this knowledge affect the world? Umbrella is already interested in it, and I am certain that it would only be a matter of time before the US government finds out about this somehow. Would there be a race for the US and Umbrella to make dimension traveling a reality? Would Umbrella use this information to become more powerful by using other dimensions to gather more knowledge. I would honestly be terrified if Umbrella where to find Rapture or Colombia. Not even mentioning Dustin's world, there would be a lot of parties out there that would love to take advantage of that. Umbrella could quickly become a multidimensional threat that could effect all existing universes. Bottom line is, Option #2 implies that the crossovers would be isolated from each other, and other universes would be unable to interact with each other. Which would be fine, but I believe that it would limit the potential of the story. There are many other insane ideas floating around in my head, but I do not have enough time to write them down here. If you are interested in my other crazy ideas, do let me know and I will PM them over to you.
Once again, congratulations on finishing the story,

Well, Sonic, you certainly definitely raise a good point with Option One, especially regarding the changes and the knowledge that Dee knows. Because he is a fucking Resi nerd and has poured over the knowledge from the games several times, so he has a lot memorized, what he knows could cripple a ton of businesses involving the Bioterrorism as well as stop a lot of shit from happening.

However, while that knowledge could get out, who would believe him? A few of the souls he escaped with might, Rainbow definitely believes him. But everyone else? It'd be a difficult uphill battle when it comes to stopping a lot of bioterrorist threats; such as the surviving Wesker kids, and so on.

I'm definitely going to toy around with this a lot.

As for the other ideas you have, sure, go ahead and DM me, color me curious.

So, this idea would mean that they travel through different universes inside the same story, right? I think that wouldn't be beneficial for the sequel's quality. I am in favor of them doing universe hopping, but only if each universe gets its own sequel and individual story. One story set in the "Final Fantasy" universe (or in one of them, as each game has a different universe), one story set in the "Tomb Raider" universe, one story set in the "Game of Thrones" universe, ect. To flesh it all out nicely and have proper time to show how Rainbow Dash and Dee get involved in the respective universe's events, lives and culture.
But cramping several universes into one story and the same sequel would barely leave time for each universe and make it rushed. Which would also make the sequel lose the strength of "Without You", the in-depth exploration of another universe through the POV of Rainbow Dash and Dee.
I would vote for what I said, several sequels with a different universe each. But since that isn't an option, I voted for Option 1, a further exploration of the "Resident Evil" universe. If there can't be several universes being explored that are all equally fleshed out in the respective stories, then there can at least be one universe that's explored down to the tiniest detail. And if you still want to have them go to other universes, then you can still do that in further sequels if your creative drive carries you there. There is no reason why this adventure can't become an entire multiverse saga in the end. :scootangel:

I'm going to vote for 1 but I'd like to say something pertaining to 3 as well.

I don't want to say "This is the story you should do," or "This is how you should write this story," 'cause, hell, I ain't the best or most original writer around. Instead I would rather just spitball a couple'o ideas at you for you to do with as you please. Be it completely jump on and go "This is exactly what I want," or "Ew, no, that's the worst idea ever," and ignore it, again, just spitballing some concepts. You don't even have to read them both, or either at all. You do you.

After finishing the original I realised that just because people are vaccinated or "cured" of diseases doesn't always mean they are completely and permanently removed from the person and the idea of them both somehow being sent to equestria and the knowledge that, just because Dee's able to completely nullify the virus in _his_ system doesn't mean there isn't a chance he could potentially spread it or worse was intriguing to me.

The other was basically Option 1 but it seems that as time passess more of Resi and MLP blur together with either more characters bleeding from one to the other or even them just melding could be interesting. Maybe things like Twilight showing up 'cause she went looking for Dashie and bit off more than she could chew or gets tangled up with Umbrella 'cause they're manipulative enough to convince her to work with/ help them out, and evil enough to just kidnap and experiment on/ with her.

I picked option 3, but when I think about it, this might fall under option 1 and I’m just stupid. (And reminder, this is just an idea, not telling you how to write the story. It is your story after all, it should be up to you what happens.) You know how Leon was recruited as a government agent because of how he survived Raccoon City? What if they recruited Dee and Rainbow as well? This could allow them to get involved with the events of RE 4. (The government could even try to blackmail them into the job, saying it’s either join them or Rainbow gets tested on in a lab somewhere.) If they don’t become agents, then maybe they could join the BSAA. Again, just ideas. You’re a great author as it is and I’m sure you can make it amazing no matter what direction you take it.
