An Unexpected Outcome · 4:01pm Jun 10th, 2021
So a few months back, I used a DNA test to find my biological father. The results came back with a 100% match, so I found the guy and messaged him. Radio silence since then.
My wife got tired of waiting and messaged his sister. She seemed perfectly nice and asked a number of questions. We sent along the DNA results and also assured her that all we wanted in the grand scheme of things was paternal medical history. She said she understood and would pass everything along to him.
This morning she messaged my wife saying that they had decided that the DNA results were invalid. They saw no familial resemblance, and he has no recollection of knowing anyone matching my mother's description. Further, they found it "shady" that no one would've reached out in the last 31 years and, given his political position, they've received messages like this before.
They wished us the best and asked that we no longer contact them.
So... yeah. Guess I'm the product of immaculate conception. Or maybe I'm like Freddy Kruger. You know, the bastard son of a hundred maniacs. Maybe my mother was such a goddamn slut in college that she just had a train run on her and I was the result.
Or maybe Ancestry is bullshit, and this whole thing has been a fool's errand from the beginning and I should've left well enough alone.
Whatever. I don't care. Fuck it.
Just fuck it all.
Sorry you got let down like that. I hope you feel better soon...
I would be disappointed too. I'm sorry that it didn't go the way you wanted.
So...Politics has ruined another thing.
Great.
I Would say the old "Its about the journey not the destination"
But Jesus christ that sounds like the most dissapointing outcome.
Ever.
Sounds like a case of not admitting things because reputation. I might be a bit vindictive about that sort of thing, but if his political position is actually so important, my recommendation would be to send the test results and your story to some reporters; local to his area, preferably tabloid.

I don't think that this is going to achieve any sort of desirable outcome for anyone.
That rough...
And from what it sounds like, you don't have the best relationship with your mother either.
Sorry you had to go through that man
I feel like that's pretty good advertising they're people with problems you don't want to get stuck in.
unfortunately this outcome is more common than people want to believe. But sometimes it's for the best

Even if he wasn't in politics he would have found another reason to deny it
Well, you did what you could. Their loss.
I can believe they’ve received similar messages in the past. Shakedowns are a thing, after all. However, the test results are what they are, and if they aren’t interested I’m sure there are a lot of people who would be.
If they doubt the test they should do their own. The hell?
