Good evening, ladies and gentlemen! Welcome to our first Disney Friday of the week! For tonight, I will be reviewing Disney's Enchanted from 2007. This underrated gem was one of my favorite childhood films of all time, and I still cherish this despite the fact I have not watched this film as often as I used to years ago. Nonetheless, I watch it once and a while due to nostalgia, the story, the characters, and the overall concept which was the main thing I love about this movie.

As a fan of crossovers, I thought it was brilliant to have an animated Disney universe collide with the real world; speaking of which, the fact that they had some of our animated characters get a taste of the real world and that not everything is sunshine and rainbows or a "happily ever after" was so satisfying. This is a great way to let kids know how the real world functions and how reality would react to Disney's way of life.

The acting was terrific, the animation colliding with the live-action style was splendidly amazing, most of the characters were all great, and the story was so intriguing as it was founded on this concept I mentioned. Kevin Lima did an excellent work in directing every aspect of this film as well as helping these producers, animators, and writers bring this work of art to life.

The music and score were done well also except that I honestly don't have a favorite song in this. Sorry, none of the songs really stood out to me, but they still were done well. That's all I have to say about that. Good work, Alan Menken.

Patrick Dempsey was awesome in this movie; the way he portrayed his character, Robert Philip, was realistic in showing us how any average person would react to a Disney princess coming into our world. Plus, he was entertaining and funny to watch. Prince Edward was a serviceable character although he was a little obnoxious, Nathaniel was likewise hilarious especially every time he had those cat-and-mouse type of moments with Pip, and Giselle was a well-established character as she went through these stages of reality. Amy Adams was great in playing the character.

As for the villain, she was a little decent concerning her overall character and personality; however, she lacked some originality in terms of her character design, her abilities, and her goals. She is basically a mixture of the Evil Queen from Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs and Maleficent from Sleeping Beauty. Look, Queen Narissa had some potential to be better, but the way she was written turned out to be just slightly above average. That's it.

In conclusion, this film is amazing, sweet, awesome, and entertaining as a animation/live-action family movie with a few flaws. I will give Enchanted a strong 9/10!

Peace!

I think there was a Cinderella moment in this movie, too.

Another one of my favorite movies.

I loved how the film both parodied and paid homage to fairytales adapted by Disney, and there was a sense that it didn’t take itself too seriously yet still manages to be a charming venture.

In my opinion, the music made by Alan Menken in this film was also his very best work.
