Griff tore through the woods, taking his anger out on the trees that he passed. He finally stopped and hunched over, stabbing at the dirt with his hoof. He glared at the ground.

"Stupid fucking Hero...they're all idiots...all of them..."

Griff was too caught up in his anger to notice the trees rustling around him. As he continued to snarl and hit the earth, a snapping noise came from a bush. He snarled and whipped around.

"Who's there?!"

"Eeek!" a black shape tumbled out from the bush, shaking as he stood up. "Of all the times to trip over a tree root..."

Griff tilted his head at the creature. It was a changeling, with black chitin and a purple carapace and wings. However, he was much taller than the average changeling, and his purple-teal eyes had pupils. He also had a pony's mane and tail, which was a bright red. His tail had a braid running through it, and his long mane was braided as well, though that didn't stop his bangs from falling in front of his eyes. He had a worn-looking crossbow slung around his side, and some saddlebags on his back.

"Um...hello...?"

The changeling yelped as he looked up at him. "S-Sorry...I-I didn't mean to startle you, I was stalking something and I tripped..."

Griff blinked, and the changeling turned away, looking around.

"I-I'll just go then..."

"Hey, what's your name...?"

"Metamorphosis." the changeling glanced back at him. "Metamorphosis Brook."

"I'm Griff. Griff Adler." Griff held out a hoof. "Nice to run into you."

"Y-You too..." Metamorphosis shook his hoof "S-So, um...did you have a campsite around here?"

"Staying in a town a little ways away. Why?"

"Oh. I-I just was surprised to run into someone. I'm a loner...kind of a nomad, I guess... I just wander and try to stay alive."

"That's nice. Must be good to not have anyone holding you back."

"Not really..." Metamorphosis sighed. "When I started traveling I was just trying to...find somelings...I don't really like being alone...changelings don't do well on their own..."

"Well, uh...I've got some others with me in the town...changelings, mostly. Maybe one of them could help?"

"A-Are you sure...?"

"Of course I am sugar." Griff grinned at him, and Metamorphosis blushed a little. "Come on, it's back this way."

Metamorphosis smiled softly and followed Griff back towards the town. Griff gave him a little smile of his own.
