A bit of a random blog post I wanted to discuss with any fellow men of culture out there. As you can probably guess, Hentai or doujins are all drawn, so the creator has complete creative control of how women look. If I'm correct to assume that Japanese men of culture strongly prefer a shaven pussy, seeing there overwhelming popularity in Hentai, why isn't a hairless cunt ever actually seen in JAVs? IIRC, the shaven-in-hentai thing is explicitly required by the censorship laws (no visible pubic hair), whereas they just pixelate the live-action stuff.

Basically is a cultural thing. One of the reasons is about puberty in Japanese women, pubic hair is a sign of puberty, removing them completely is like a sign of immaturity or a refusal to adulthood.

As for why the west does it, a few potential reasons come to mind.
Men are mainly known as the hairier ones out the two sexes. Any and all hair below the scalp could therefore be associated with manliness, and most straight guys would prefer their women be as far away from a 'man' as possible. It's the same thing with excessive muscles and why a lot of guys can find them off-putting on a women.
Corporate influence probably is another reason. Likely razor companies wanting to sell more.
