"Hey dad, why did you bring me out in the forest?" little Ramirez asked as she followed me on the trail.
"spend time with my daughter of course" I replied as I lead her to a campsite.
"wait, are we going camping?" she said as she looked at me with excitement.
"Yup, I already got the tent set up and the fire lit," I said as I sat down on a log near the campfire, pulling out a guitar.
"Are you gonna sing a song?" Ramirez asked as she sat beside me with a smile.
"right again, I'm gonna sing one song of the old world"
"cool! I haven't heard you sing in a while! well, except for that time I caught you singing while washing the dishes" she said as she giggled at the memory.
I laugh "it's an old song that I learned when I was young, now you just quiet down now so I can focus"
she nodded "Okay!"
and with that I cracked my knuckles and started playing the guitar, it started with a calming and maybe peaceful mellow tune before I cleared my throat and started singing:
In the west shall rise
A sinister creed
The rich will get what they want
The poor will lose what they need
The devil knows our fears
He told all his friends
They'll block the sun with their lies
As darkness descends
Oh lord, the great collapse
Won't be our end
When the world falls into flames
We will rise again
We will rise again...
5 Years Later...
Ramirez sobs quietly at the thought of the memory, she missed those days where she was treated nicely and had the feeling that somebody loved and cared about her. she would do anything and I mean anything, to have it all back.
"*sniff* dad...please...please come back..." she said as she now lays on the ground "come back..."
