Not back to KSP yet, but I did do some space stuff.

I haven't touched KSP since my early experience with KSP2 was a combination of glitchy game and impossible-to-read UI. I've been thinking about it here and there, but I've had other things to do.

But that doesn't mean I'm not doing space stuff, and yesterday I finally edited and posted a video of such.

    My muse is nagging me.

I've done very little writing the past five months, partly due to being busy, but mostly due to recurring headaches when it's writing time.

I have a couple weeks off, and I'm going to try to make time to get back on my projects (the Octavia story and novelizing Peter is the Wolf). But my mind... well... it's trying to jump ahead, or possibly back.

    Life imitates art...

So, a privately built and operated space probe became the first US lander to soft-land on the Moon last week- Odysseus.

    Extreme Nitpicky Trivia Help Wanted

I've finally begun work on that story I promised.

I need a bit of info for a minor touch, though:

Does anybody know if, through the entirety of MLP:FiM, any month in the Julian/Gregorian calendar has been named by any character in any episode whatever?

I'm prepared to make up month names, but if they use the same ones we do I won't bother.

New Video Up: My First Ever Minecraft Session · 12:03pm May 15th, 2021

Finally got around to this one. This represents my first ever Minecraft experience, which is why it sucks quite a bit...

:rainbowlaugh: this is kind of painful to watch and funny at the same time.
you did good for never having played before.

Haven't gotten too far into the playthrough since I need to sleep, but a few (Hopefully constructive) comments

1. Vanilla minecraft doesn't consider a need for 'air'. You can create air pockets underwater with a torch.
2. Java edition is best edition in my view since it can be modded (This is a deep, dark path)
3. My focus at the start of a game is a bit of enough wood to create a basic set of tools and some charcoal via a furnace, then shelter for the night.
4. Mobs can potentially spawn under the underhang (and in your shelter) due to the lack of light

Seems you were enjoying at least :)

5519180 I should have mentioned in the description of the video that this is an edit-down of a four-hour stream. There was a lot of thinking, silences, and active bafflement as I experimented with making things that turned out to have no purpose (at least, not within the frame of this video).

5519182 Addressing your points:

0 ) I originally streamed this in January. I've played a bit more since then (though my total play time is still under fifty hours).

1 ) I was under the impression (in Hard mode or higher, at least) that sealing yourself into a too-small hole would trigger a suffocation countdown.

2 ) Haven't experimented with mods yet.

3 ) As would mine be, now, but at the time I was focused on one particular thing (namely, don't be outside at night).

4 ) Yeah, I eventually figured that out. Still, I don't regret making a home there. Even by Minecraft standards, it's a fairly unique sight.

5519182 Oh- and as for enjoying it, I enjoy the building and the exploration. I do NOT enjoy the clunky combat, especially since it lends itself to jump-scares (drop creepers, anyone?). I've always hated horror in general and jump-scare horror especially, and suddenly having a mob in one's face (or exploding in one's face) is the single biggest turn-off in the game for me.

Yeah, I've experienced the fun of surprise Creepers. A large part of that is managing the light levels around you, though obviously thats not something you can complete on the first day.

Thankfully you can get armour that'll protect you from such an event, though thats usually paired with skeletons.

Yeah, I've tried Survival a few times, but the vast majority of my time in Minecraft has been in Peaceful Creative (and with mods). I'm also there for the building and exploration, and not having to gather materials or worry about combat makes that much easier. Of course, I'm also not trying to stream it as a spectator event, so that may change things a bit.
Good luck, and with your streaming in general, by the way!
