A Solid Foundation: What Comes Next?

    Hey everyone!

If you’re reading this, then it means you’re done reading the last chapter of A Solid Foundation. If not, then you should definitely go do that first. Go on. I’ll wait.

I have some thoughts I want to share about writing this story and what comes next but, it all can come after the line break.

Do you think of me? (Poem)

Is it hate or is it disgust when you think of me? If you think of me at all. I wonder if the past still lives in you—the way it grips in me. Or did it die, forever long? And, if so, did anyone take time to grieve?

New Story Tomorrow! · 1:46am May 14th, 2021

So! I have a new story coming out tomorrow at 4:30 pm. You all excited? I am.

Oh, you want to know more about it? Well, I guess I can tell you more details. I can even show you the cover art!

First things first though, I should mention that my story will be a sequel to Krickis' SciTwiSet story "Something About Sunset." It's one of those sequels where you don't have to read the other story to get it, but it adds a lot to it if you do. That said, reading mine first will definitely spoil things. In fact, reading this blog post will probably spoil things so you should definitely head over there and read that story first and then come back. It's a Prologue and Three Chapters long, so not long at all, and it's super good. I'll explain all of my stuff under the line, so yea. Go read, then come back.

Spoilers under the line.

Okay, so why am I writing a sequel to it? Well, as you may have noticed if you read the story, Something About Sunset was a gift to me and something that I was very involved with as a proofreader and sort of just helping Krickis bounce ideas off of. Well, she had the idea for the ending from the get go and sort of felt that it would leave people wanting a sequel, or another chapter, or something more conclusive. She wasn't planning on ever making it though. There's a reason the story is what it is and she gave it the ending that story needed.

She also mentioned that she would not allow anyone else to write a sequel either, adding "the only one that is allowed to write a sequel to this is you."

So of course I had to.

I knew the story already. I helped write it, in a way. I knew what was going on with Sunset. In fact, I was poised to represent Sunset's point of view on this whole thing. And so I did.

My story coming out tomorrow is titled Leaving Something Behind, and picks up where Something About Sunset leaves off, as told from Sunset's perspective.

It is just one chapter. Just 3,565 words. But it attempts to add another thread into the finely woven yarn that Krickis has spun, and in doing so I hope that it brings some of you a sense of closure.

So yeah. Please join me tomorrow at 4:30. I hope you like it.

Oh, the cover art! Here you go!
