Does fimfiction need a filter system? · 3:25pm May 13th, 2021
Like derpibooru's basically. Pony stories... some of them you may don't like for 'x' reason.
Let's say for example, you dislike the 'Human' tag. You can now simply hide such stories so you won't see evil, handsome homosapiens ruining your ponyfics by stealing your waifu.
nah
"Need" is a bit of a strong word. Strictly speaking, having a separate site for one fandom when there are several generalists isn't "needed", but this one's UI/UX is so much better than anything else that it earned its right to exist.

Yeah. Maybe those who dislike these stories maybe simply don't read them?

That could work. 'Clean work in one place.' And mix of the two in one place.
We technically do. If you're looking for romance by typing #Romance, and you want a certain pony like Celestia, #Princess Celestia, you can exclude any results with humans or anon with -#human -#anon in the search.
It could work but I get the feeling that they would turn it off to troll on something that they hate so that they would get a borner for their tiny genitals

Yeah. Some will literally look for something, in this case read something that they don't like. It's crazy.
I like I hate foalcon. But I simply don't read it. I

Yeah. Good thing lot Celestia x humans is liked overall.
would be fun to have and possibly as a setting which you could turn off

Yeah. I personally would hide rape porn fics.
I feel the UI on this site is pretty good and having extra buttons to click would make unnecessary clutter. If I don't like a particular story or a subject, I just don't read it.
What I feel would help a lot is to expand the number of blue tags to 5 and the number of character tags to 7, but I'm neither a mod or a programmer.

Yeah. They could simply avoid a story if has crude comedy or something.
As you said, the new tags could mess up the site's UI.

True.
Yes. It also needs a better tagging system, or at the very least, more tags to cover more stuff. Clopfic kink tags, anyone?
Often when I search for fics of certain themes (usually by browsing group folders), so many of them sound interesting on the surface until I get to the page for it, and find that the description mentions kinks and stuff that I really don't wanna fucking read.
no. I'm still trying to figure out derpbooru tagging I rather they don't change it
I think the difference is the medium. In art your pretty much guaranteed to see it whether or not you want to unless you filter. In fanfiction, unless your forcing yourself, you not gonna read something with a tag that you dont want to read. I think alot stories aren't tagged as well as Derpibooru though.
