With my quest/race to get a Rainbow S on all of Freedom Planet 2's stages, my creativity lit up like a bonfire again, and I started crafting an alternate ending of sorts for the past week.

Right? By this point he should be a dad and his son is the one going out on adventures with his same Pokemon. Then Ash could friggin' retire and the show would still have an age-relatable character for the demographic.
IKR, without tapping into that stupid "He’s in a coma the whole time" theory, why else would they age up a random character but keep the others the same? Like how The Simpsons family have all been the same age for nearly 30 years now.

That actually was a very legit fan theory at one point. The Pokedex said that those who saw Ho-oh and made a wish would have it come true. If Ash made a wish that he could always be on a Pokemon adventure, a way that that could happen was if he never aged (or aged very slowly). That would be the reason he was always ~ten years old, and still retained all the knowledge from his previous adventures while the rest of his previous companions (human and pokemon) still aged.

...Who's Bonnie? I stopped watching the show after Battle Frontier. I think I would see a random episode or two on very infrequent occasion if I was scrolling through the TV guide and found nothing else to watch. But with no context I basically just waited for Team Rocket to show up. Apparently they actually became competent? DaFuq?

Jokes aside, huh, I didn't realize New Snap had an aged-up Todd. I'm not getting New Snap. Nothing against the game; I'm just not interested. And yes, Ash aging maybe a year in the last 25 years is dumb.
I thinking its the writers case of using a floating timeline. Simpsons and Southwark both do it. Its where the main characters don't age but events in their surrounding does. You can look it up in the Wikipedia. It explains it better than I can.

Wow. Didn't know you watch Pokemon XY. It was the first show I watched since DP and hooked me to the show again. Plus, it's the first show I ever watch all episodes from start to end if you don't count the movies.
