There's been a bunch of pissing and moaning about political bullshit on this site, the fandom, and in the world at large - as such, growing tired of hearing shit from both sides, I wanted to say my piece.
First and foremost, I fucking hate political shit, any and all of it, regarding this fandom. For fuck's sake, it's a community built around cartoon horsies. I feel relatively certain that most people with a fondness for pastel equines do so as a form of escapism, a means to get away from the ceaseless barrage of crap the world keeps slinging at us, so I try to steer clear of drama - as such, I'm not going to take a side. Just keep the shit away from me.
Secondly, if a platform is going to have rules, they should enforce the rules fairly. When you start showing bias towards some and not others, you're fucking yourself. Having preferences, demolishing your objective standpoint, is a damn quick way to ruin your reputation, make a shitty name for yourself, and effectively shoot yourself in the foot. Rules are rules, regardless of who you are or who's dick you suck, so they should be applied to everyone equally.
Last of all, no, don't ask for my opinion regarding any of this crap. I have enough shit on my plate to deal with, I probably don't care about whatever contentious topic you're wanting to poke me about, and I don't have the time or energy to deal with contentious BS. If you want to say hello, leave a comment, compliment my stuff, berate my stuff, or send me a meme, cool, I can deal with that. I'm not here to masochistically heap more stress onto myself, so forget about it.
I started writing for a couple of reasons, but the largest is to give folks something to look forward to. I've been publishing at least one story a week for three years, covering all sorts of depravity, and I intend to keep going. Yes, I know, it probably sound stupid, yet it's what's kept me going. Giving people a chuckle, something to get excited for ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°), or even a reason to log on and downvote my stuff is perfectly fine - as long as people get some kind of entertainment from my work, I'm as happy as a clam (yes, a bearded clam).
Anyhow, there's my hot take. Regardless of what your political or ideological stance is on stuff, be civil and kind to one another; for fuck's sake, it's not that bloody hard.

There's a reason why I try to desperately stay neutral on this site. The same goes for the fact that the last place I want to hear politics (unless it is damn well hilarious) is on the one website I can consistently go to just relax. Join any of the political dumpster fire groups if you want to shoot yourself in the foot.

No matter your political affiliation, what we can all agree on is that rules must be enforced fairly. We all probably wish that the rules gave whatever our side is an unfair advantage, but a peek behind the veil of ignorance (John Rawls, 1971) tells us that this is a bad idea. So, as long as we all play fair and stop trying to turn arguments into wars, everything will be okay.
