Changeling LifeCycle-
Changeling eggs are typically laid in clutches by their mother, and they are two stays like that during their incubation. Slight changes in their environment’s temperatures or even the way their egg is position could be detrimental to the larva’s survival. If they make it past that stage, they will hatch into newborns.
Newborn larvae are born completely blind after hatching, and will not gain their sight until a few months later. All a larva does at this age is sleep and eat. After a month—and if they haven’t died by that point—they will gain their eyesight and start crawling around. They still only eat and sleep, but they are starting to learn about their surroundings.
By the time they reach 5 months, they will cocoon themselves and spend a few weeks preparing themselves for metamorphosis. Depending on how much love they were able to store before then, they would either become a black, juvenile drone or the healthier, more colorful new drones under Thorax’s rule.
Once they come out of the cocoon, they are considered a nymph and will stay as such for a couple of years. Changeling reaches maturity faster than most other species, considered to be an adult by the time they turn 10 but aren’t able to reproduce until they turn 18.
An average drone has a life span of about 100 years, significantly less than most other species. Before Thorax’s rule, though, Changelings had a much lower chance of reaching that age, usually dying in combat, illness, or starvation.
Royal Changelings-
During their time as eggs, they absorb the love energy around them to keep warm and stay alive. Absorb too little, and they die. Absorb the bare minimum, and they hatch as regular drones.
And if they absorb a healthy amount of love, they become a Royal Changeling.
A Royal Changeling is just the same as a regular drone, but they have more strength and are of a different color so they stand out. They usually go into metamorphosis earlier than a normal changeling, and their physical aging seems to be sped up.
These Changelings are considered Royal because if the current ruler were to die or be overruled, they would be strong enough to lead their kind. All Royal Changelings are considered siblings to each other, whether or not they came from the same clutch.
And average Royal Changeling Lifespan is significantly longer than a normal changeling, about 800 years.
Chimera Changelings-
A Chimera Changeling is when an egg absorbs too much love before hatching. The egg hatch a changeling that looked like a mixed breed of species, and they were more powerful than any other changeling at birth.
Because of how much love they gained before hatching, they completely skip over their larvae stage and metamorphosis, coming out a fully grown nymph.
These types of changelings are incredibly rare and are a bit dangerous if they are handled improperly. They are known to be greedy, wanting more love than is necessary for surviving.
And of all the Changelings types, they are the longest living. It’s estimated that they could live up to 10,000 years, and even some speculated that they might be immortal. Just know that they live a really long time.
Ooh
Ah, a fellow changeling of culture.

It’s what I headcannon Chrysalis to be, since she looks like a changeling/pony hybrid
So would Thorax and Pharynx be Royal changelings in this situation?
