A sort of Curiosity. · 5:58am Apr 23rd, 2021
I've been a fair bit... blocked up when it comes to writing several of my fics. While I intend on continuing Puppets of Tragedy for quite a while yet, I find my other main fic, Fallout Equestria: A Changeling Perspective has gone into a death spiral for writing, since I can't ever seem to be quite happy with writing the snow hounds as a culture, to the point I need a break from viking mythology, and studying ancient danelaw customs. To this end, I sort of wanted to throw some other ideas I've had on the backburner and see if anyone thinks they're interesting enough of a concept or if it would be a horrible idea. There are three total ideas I've had wandering the back of my mind for a good year now, and... um. Here goes:
Given that I adore fallout, but recently found a slum the first two ideas revolve around the Fallout Equestria universe (Surprise, surprise. )
The first being a survivor from the Pre-war balefire bombs, a Breezy who was involved in the creation of Mare-vel comic books (expanding on the power pony episode's use of books to other worlds), who finds themselves exiting a tome splashed with the ink into wasteland, and now has to learn to survive as one of the weakest creatures there are in the Equestrian universe, and hopefully bring just a little bit of happiness back into the world.
The second idea, takes that setting to a different type of prewar survivor. A Sphinx, specifically, having awoken dragon-nap style to the world having fallen apart outside the pyramid they were guarding. With the added twist that they end up rebuilding society around them as a new lord (a la: release that witch/ I became the city lord, style), using the knowledge they were guarding to try and return the world to a stable/safe/comfortable state while outside forces try to claim it all for themselves.
The third idea is more along the lines of Puppets of Tragedy in being a displaced person, but revolves around showcasing some of the stranger shenanigan's Dungeons And Dragons 3e/3.5e has in regards to Artificers and a certain stat. and using the 'thousand years ago' plot to an actual extent that neither the shows writers or apparently most fics should of used it. By actually going into the chaotic past of Equestria and showing a story of being brought into that point of time and the events leading up to being petrified, rather than just going 'I was stoned, then I wasn't, lets never mention the past besides that Celestia and/or Luna hates me, lol. Thousand years being unable to do anything? NO LASTIN' TRAUMA YOOOO. No Regrets!' That seems to occur way too often. . With the story being learnt by an outside eye investigating while events happen 'in the present'. Essentially combining a story of the past, and present alongside showcasing some of the zanier things one can do with high level crafting.
Honestly, I think either of the three ideas could be fun, but I'd like an outside opinion if you don't mind giving suggestions.
-Sincerely, Irid.
P.S. I hope you all are doing well in this hectic time. Stay strong, and stay healthy!
Glad to see you alive, was wondering where ya went.
