I'm pretty sure we are still getting new fans, even now. But I feel mostly hardcore, diehard fans are left. But do you think there will be an explosion of new fans eventually at some point from a new show in the future? Said new fans, will go back and watch G4.
Such a rise may come with its own dangers. We will be in the spotlight once again.

I think so, yeah, and if it will be any good, you can expect new faces around, but it would have to be G4-good for the fandom to 'explode' again, IMHO.
Its a definite maybe. If they somehow recapture Lauren Fausts Genius vision most definitely, Lauren Faust is a legend and without her idk what hasbro will do but I hope they do well.

I think it will, look at ATLA and Gravity falls, kids shows sure but got incredibly popular. ATLA just recently got its surge although it is pretty old now.
This community is one of the few that can truly be counted as for "All ages" I feel depending on how the new show goes and how well its received will determine how many new fans show up this generation. However we must also think of how many current members will show thier own children G4 and the influx it will have then.

I'd say it's very unlikely. I mean, I'm fairly new, but I'm one to be very late for everything. If G5 ends up being about as good as FiM, the new people will probably just stick to G5, rather than going back, much like it seems to be the case with some who like G1. The vast majority always seems to like to simply stick to the newest thing, much like with games or any other TV series. I'll probably loose interest in G4 someday as well. That's just how things go.
I really wish the fandom explodes in popularity again. I came in late and never got to experience that, and at this point I dont think I ever will
