True story

So earlier this week, the professor that I grade papers for messages me, something along the lines of:
"Hey, so I just moved into my new office, and there's this My Little Pony artifact that the previous professor left behind. Do you want to keep it?"
So now I have this beaut sitting in my apartment:

From the information I can gather, it's a one-of-a-kind piece painted by an alum quite a few years back. It's made of solid wood, and has a handle at the back. It was apparently used as a water balloon shield during a senior class project, which probably explains the dents.
