*gets up* “Sorry, sir. Didn’t see you there.” *looks up and squints* “Say, you’re one of those new recruits, aren’t ya? Scarab told me all about you! I’m Flutterwings. And you are?”
“...Very fitting name, actually. I’ve sort of met a few recruits before. Well, honestly, I’ve never really gone up to one to talk to them, but yeah. There’s a lot of nice ones, really. I’ve told you about Scarab, yes, and there’s also this corporal guy who... well, I’ve never really got his name yet, but I really like him.”
“Speaking of corporals... what’s your rank? Do you have one? I mean, of course I don’t have one... since I’m just a lil’ nymph, ya know.”
“You’re a lieutenant? Wow. I’ve never knew what the responsibilities of a lieutenant were. I know Spiny keeps talking about them, but—“
“Oh my gosh, I just remembered! I was supposed to bring this to him! See this obsidian? Found it in one of the back rooms, and Spiny wanted to study it. I dunno what for, but it must be something useful. You don’t know where he went, do you? He’s one of those teal-maned changelings.
“Thanks! Seeya! Talk to ya later!”

It's not impossible. Set aside a few hours and say this is when I'm going to edit those really old chapters. I did it recently and it changed the flow of one of my stories completely.
