Feathered Hearts: C&C - initial release complete · 4:24pm Mar 23rd, 2021
Well, after putting on a massive push over the past week to get Feathered Hearts launched and then refreshing my browser about every thirty seconds for three days straight to look for new likes and comments, it's time to let that simmer for a bit while I head back over to work on Midnight Rising. But before I do, I did want to welcome and thank all new readers of the story for dropping likes and comments, and give a shout-out to the dozens of new watchers who came to me from the original Feathered Heart to await the continuation.
So what does the future hold for Feathered Hearts? Well, there is going to be a second, and likely a third bonus chapter before I resume work on editing the existing stuff. Reason being, I believe it will take three chapters to finish off this little story arc I've started and fill in the time gap between chapters three and four of the original story. I know folks are probably eager to get to the Cloven, but I will ask you to indulge me and let me take the time to do this right. There are a couple things I really want to set up and deal with, first.
When the continuation is reached, I know roughly the course the story will take, and its conclusion--if you want some hint of what may happen and who might be seen, note the character tags on the story--and there's even an idea regarding the Hall of Heroes that's sorely tempting me that I don't yet know if I can pull off.
But all that lies in the future. For now, may it be enough that the story of Feathered Heart is reborn, and I promise that I will do it justice to the best of my ability.

I admit that I hadn't even looked at the tags before. Interesting. Very interesting. If the Cloven are anything like the source they are based on, I can definitely see the need for some big horns and wings if things progress badly.

I won't say more for now, but consider it a little foreshadowing.
I'm guessing the Cloven are based on the Zerg from Starship Troopers given how often that movie was referenced in the original, but I never saw it. I'm planning to watch it later as I get into later chapterss. Based on what I'm familiar with, I think they either take after the Flood in HALO, or more recently, the Grimm in RWBY.

I'm nearly certain they're based on Codex Alera and the Vord.
