HAPPY 8TH ANNVERSARY TO UNIVERSAL MAGIC!!!

It’s that time of year again, when the birds are chirping and the flowers are blooming. Hi, I’m the 21^st of the month. How have you been lately? I’ve been great, thanks for asking on this lovely spring time that we are having. But seriously though, we are all doomed and will die one day.

But more importantly… HAPPY 8^TH ANNIVERSARY TO EVERYPONY HERE!

Yup, it’s been officially 8 years since Universal Magic was published on here and has been going on for 8 long years, aren’t you all just excited, cause I know I am since I have a bit of an unexpected surprise for you all.

Now it ain’t much but I surprisingly got around to doing something just in time for the 8^th anniversary of Universal Magic. I know I’m surprised myself. Originally I wasn’t planning on doing anything since last year I was able to get a short out to celebrate the 7^th anniversary.

But this year, I’ve got something even better… Not one thing, not two things, but 3 things. Count em’, the 3 whole things, technically 5 things depending on how you see it.

Let’s start with Mane.

I’ve got a brand new Universal Magic Short that I just released. It’s another Corona short, a sequel to last year’s short, which was released exactly on this day.

It continues where the last one left off, so read that one first if you already haven’t. Now while it is supposed to be a short, it ends up at over 13K words. That wasn’t my intention, it just happened to be like that. And honestly I had even more planned for that short that I wanted to include, but I saw how much was being written so I had to cut some of the stuff that I wanted to put in, mostly in the court case, for the sake of length and trying to keep it as short as I possibly could. So that’s a fun fact right there. But I feel like it still works out in the end either way, with the content or without it.

Next Up is Alternate. Yeah, didn’t expect to see something in there huh?

Well as I said before, I was thinking of doing some Universal Apocalypse Life, and so I did an episode. Well, I finished one, but had some extra time on my hands and said to myself, “Fuck it, let’s do another…” And so I did.

Ladies and Gentlecolts, I present to you two, count them, TWO! Not one, but TWO full episodes of Universal Apocalypse Life ready to go, ready to read tonight. Right now, RIGHT NOW!

And just so you get the idea, Universal Apocalypse Life is supposed to parody MLP Pony Life. And so in spirit of the length of Pony life, I tried to keep it between 1K – 3K. I kind of failed that on the second episode, but it ain’t too bad though. And of course I split up the thing, just like Pony life, into two parts. So that’s where if you want to count it as 5 things that I’ve released for the 8^th anniversary, then you can.

Honestly I would do more since they don’t take too much time, although they still take a bit out of me since it’s still a good few thousand words. But I figured I’d savior it and try to do some more some other time. When will that be? Well I do not know because that leads us with the updates so far.

Ok so for the updates, I’m technically still on my break. I only did this cause I figured I should get the ball rolling again and do something. That and I felt up to it and figured the anniversary was coming up so I went above and beyond. Originally I was only going to do the Short, but I figured why not push myself to do the others?

So yeah, I’m still trying to do my break thing. But good news about that, the certain person, not naming any names though still, is finally going to do the thing that I need that person to do, so that’s good. We’re making progress. And once that is finished, then I’ll start working Episode 23-3 finally

Now I do want to say this to you all. I’ve already started working on the outline for the first Ghost Short. I’m not finished yet and probably won’t since as soon as I’m done with my “break thing”, I want to focus on finishing writing the outline to Episode 23-3, since I still have a ways to go on that one. And then maybe I’ll finish up the Ghost Short and do that and then go from there.

So that’s the update for that so far.

Anything else to mention? Oh right… the anniversary.

I just want to take a moment and talk about it. It’s been 8 years. 8 long years. And it’ll just keep going and getting older. It feels like it wasn’t that long ago and that 2013 was just a couple of years ago, but it’s not. And so with that, I’d like to say thank you to everypony here who reads it and supports it.

But of course I don’t do this for the likes, but I do it because I love it. I generally have a passion for this story and will forever so in my heart, honestly. Even though every time I write for long periods of time and it takes a lot out of me, and it makes me not want to write for a while, I still love it and I still keep coming back to it. And I will keep coming back until I no longer can whether that be in death or something.

And to show you how much passion I have for this story, ever since I conceived the idea in my head, for the past 8 years, I haven’t stop thinking about Universal Magic. I’m always thinking about it in my head, every single day for the past 8 years, going over it in my head multiple times. I can’t tell you how many times I went over the Discord saga in my head, especially the second part of it just to get that outline that I have now. And Episode 23-2, I’m sure I went over that plot of that episode in my head at least hundred times from beginning to end over and over and over and over and over, just making sure I got the all details right.

Not only that, but it’s amazing to see Mane get close to 1 million words. Sure it’s already over a million, but Mane isn’t, yet it’s almost to the million club. Less than 50K, and that is amazing, almost 10 years and it’s about to hit the 1 million mark. It amazes me you know, just really does to see how far this stuff has come for me.

Years ago I had this little idea. I was bored somewhere and I just started thinking of certain things and then all of a sudden I came up with the idea of Universal Magic. It didn’t start out the way it is now, it slowly progressed to where it is today, and while I had to make a few changes to it, I think it has gotten to a point where I’m just so happy to have it and be able to write stuff. Yeah it gets hard, challenging, but I’m happy to do it though.

And just look at the outline too, I sometimes look at that and ask myself, “Did I do this? Did I write this?” I mean it blows me away to see the outline and length of some of these episodes that I have written. I mean I literally have, although can’t 100% confirm but more than likely, the longest episode (or chapter) on FMfiction, on this site at 206,000 words. And that I did not think was going to happen. Hell, I’m sure I have the Top 4 longest episodes (or chapters) here with the others being over 100K episodes. So that’s something. That’s an achievement right there, even though it’s not that great to be honest. But still, at least Universal Magic has that, Home to the Longest Episode (or chapter)

And the outline, Plans, I have a lot of this stuff planned out don’t I? For just years to come. Sure, maybe I’m rushing things but, just having it all laid out like that, planning things out like that, it amazes me. It makes me wonder how many hours that I’ve put into this thing, and it just makes me happy. I wouldn’t say it’s pride since pride is a sin after all, but I am proud of it. Ina reasonable, humble kind of sense I should say.

I know it ain’t the best. I know it sucks in the ratings. But I’m not bothered by that much by that kind of stuff. I mean I used to since that seemed to have been the goal, but over time I’ve learned to not care about that stuff anymore. And now I just do it for the fun of it. And I hope all of you and many more will continue to read and have fun with it. And that I thank you, the viewer for that.

I had more stuff that I wanted to say here in honor of the anniversary but it has slipped my mind. Maybe I’ll do a post anniversary and speak about it then if I can remember.

Other than that, Happy 8 years to Universal Magic. It’s almost a decade old, still running, still gunning, and I hope for it to continue to do so. Whether with a big audience or a small audience, here’s to you Universal magic, and hope your light stays forever lit for many years to come.
