    The Best CMC Story

There's a series of six chapter books known as Ponyville Mysteries. I highly recommend them, and they even fit the Nightmare Night atmosphere! They have characters staring into the face of death, and lore, and an overarching plotline. It's the CMC at their best.

That's all I've got to say right now.

    A Confession...

I hadn't watched most of season 8 or any of season 9 until a few weeks ago, nor any of G5 until this week, due to horrible anxiety. (Yes, anxiety about watching a tv show I want to watch. My brain is messed up.) So in no particular order, I need to get out some thoughts.

    Spike's Magic

I'm watching through the show again, and noticed a lore thing that I thought was worth making note of. In Spike at Your Service (yes, that horrible episode where Spike is depicted as clumsy and incapable of things like cooking and cleaning that he's been shown to be skilled at in most other episodes), Spike has this personal "Spike the Dragon Code" card. But what's interesting is where it

    Isn't It Funny...

...When you're just looking at the latest stories, and suddenly there's a propagandist promotion of an extremist who advocates against democracy and openly admires the worst dictator in history in the description of what you naively thought was a shipping story?

...When an avowed Communist asks for money as though that isn't inherently hypocritical?

You Know What's Fun? · 2:48am Mar 21st, 2021

Checking this site for story updates and seeing, out of the blue, previously non-extremist authors calling for political violence on their blogs. Oh wait, that's the opposite of fun. Apparently violent rhetoric is okay if it's lightly veiled in metaphor. I have half a mind to write a metaphorical tale insinuating violence against the people who are doing this to test if it works both ways... but that would require the dishonesty of pretending I promote violence. It so happens that morality is still a thing, and taking the low road isn't justified just because somebody else has done it, despite increasingly frequent claims to the contrary.

This place used to be a shelter in the storm that was the world for me. Now it's become a cesspool of extremists, and it makes me ill. I'm pulling back from interacting on this site because it's getting to be as toxic as Twitter. I plan on staying with MLP fics for a long time, but I fear it will take a fair portion of that time for this particular storm to break.

Edit: And right after I post this, somebody driveby-downvotes all of my stories again. So fun. It's worth noting that that sort of reaction to me literally just saying "promoting violence is wrong" could, in and of itself, be interpreted as a violent threat.

I swear I blocked you. Did I unblock you in some fit of insanity? By the way, you're one of a grand total of two people I've ever blocked on here, so enjoy that prize.

Edit: And adding to the drive-by downvotes? How exactly does that show that I'm the prick? You're the sort of person where I genuinely can't understand how you can bear your own reflection in the mirror.
