Travelling Tasmania · 12:04pm Mar 19th, 2021
In case anyone was wondering what has happened to the next chapter of Foreign Affairs, it's on hold while I am doing a driving holiday of Tasmania. So far, I've traveled over Bass Strait on the Spirit of Tasmania to Devonport, drove to Stanley and climbed The Nut, then to Cradle Mountain National Park and hiked to Crater Lake, visited Launceston then drove to Wineglass Bay N.P. and hiked there again, and today I went to Port Arthur historical site. Went crazy trying to find accommodation. EVERYWHERE is booked solid! Eventually found a fantastic place about an hour south of Hobart. Still less than halfway through the holiday, so don't expect any words soon!
Tassie my old home; I live in Australia now!
sure sounds like you are having a blast.
enjoy your self everypony needs time off.
Dang, talk about bringing up memories.
Been there by bus on a roundtrip, recognising the sites you mentioned - I recall Tassie being gorgeous in autumn.
Hope you have a great trip!
I recall a trail up the backside of Mount Wellington that's pretty and nice if you're into hiking (Just dress for very windy weather at the top)
Sounds awesome! Have a great trip!
Enjoy the trip, Goldfur!

Could have been there back in 83, but the Navy made me do a final patrol on the Grant before going to the Boston. Boston made port calls at Perth and Hobart. Have fun!
Enjoy your trip!
If you're not national park'ed out I'd suggest Maria Island (a more laid back version of Freycinet blended with a less developed version of Port Arthur need to be prepared to camp though) and Mt Field.
Other than that, if you're down the Huon or Channel (an hour south of Hobart says one or the other) enjoy the local cider... Pagan (can't beat their apple and cherry) and Willie Smiths are the best but you'll also find Franks and a few others down thataway.

I actually did visit Frank's and tried their cider sampler. All good but some I liked a lot more than the others.
