What COULD'VE been the Equestria Girls season 2 finale

So Nick Confalone has recently stated on Twitter the original Season 2 finale for Equestria Girls that he pitched to Hasbro before they cancelled the series: an hour-long winter special that would've set up Season 3:

Sounds neat and all but I'm not sure we ever really NEEDED to see Sunset’s human counterpart. Just seems like caving into canonising fan theories. Also, “ongoing redemption arc”? Her redemption arc was already completed in a satisfying way.

I honestly would’ve preferred a finale, either as a movie or special, where the Humane Seven graduate and it ends with a look into the future à la The Last Problem, with Sunset as the new principal of CHS along with Sci-Twi as her wife/vice-principal. Maybe Luster Dawn comes through the portal to visit the human world, and Sunset greets her with a warm smile and says "You must be new here", harkening back to the first movie.

Hmm. Interesting... not quite sure how I feel about this. On the one hand, yeah I've never been shot with the whole idea of a human Sunset Shimmer. On the other hand, I also am just a little bit curious about what they may have come up with.

Though ultimately, yes, I would have very much preferred the grand finale to EG being a movie or special about the girls graduating and looking to the future. It would have been a sweet way to conclude the series.
