Hello everypony! I've considered doing something like this for a while, and I thought it'd be appropriate for various reasons.

This here, as the title says, is a guide to my original characters in the different parts of Wherever the Light Shines' overarching story. While they are different parts that make it seem like they're sequels, they're actually all one big story rather than separate from each other.

I also plan on providing summaries of past parts and each of their chapters just in case you forget what is going on in the story, or you could pick some pieces up that'll help you better understand what's going on in certain parts of it.

NOTE: Whenever an original character appears in either part, the list will be updated to include that character and which part they appeared in!

Wherever the Light Shines

Mystic

I'm sure you all know who Mystic is, but I figured it'd be appropriate to put her here. She's a pony who woke up at ten years old with no recollection of what came before, grew up in a hostile environment, met Sunshine, the Liberators and so forth. And you all know that it didn't end well for poor Mystic and she lost everypony she cared about on top of sidelining from her friend, Sunshine.

Sunshine Smiles

First off, I thank RS-Belle14 for Sunshine's name. I really appreciate it. Anyway, Sunshine was a very kindhearted young filly that was Mystic's best friend. Mystic made a promise to Sunshine and has been keeping it ever since, and Mystic always will love and treasure the filly in her heart. But with Sunshine's death, Mystic has become hardened and continues living for Sunshine's sake.

Cierra and Meng

Both the leader and co-leader of the Liberators. Cierra was like a big sister (and sometimes felt like a mother) to Mystic. Cierra was the best pony she had known, she was a leader, caring, brave, and would be there for anypony that needed her. However, after a while, Cierra's actions became more questionable, such as hiring ponies Mystic didn't like, and the trip up to the Northerners where Cierra went crazy as Mystic and Meng tried to help her see her errors. The trip up North was a disaster, Meng was lost, and when Cierra began using magic, it eventually led to the Liberators downfall and Cierra was lost in the chaos.

Meng was a strong and independent pony that was very skilled with her crossbow and other weapons. She was the strategist and had a soft spot for kids. Despite her rough attitude and stature, she did care for her fellow brothers and sisters in the Liberators.

Hong

Imperial City's cruel and strict general. He longs to build Imperial City the way he sees fit as a place of "law and order." He has been the city's general for about as long as anypony can remember and has lately fallen from the pony he once was because of his behavior. When he was forced to raise Mystic by the Leader, he did whatever he could to abuse, hate, and torture her without doing it himself to maintain his image. Fortunately, Mystic managed to escape from his clutches, but now they've crossed paths in Equestria and who knows what Hong could be planning next?

Song and Juan

Two members of the Liberators that was fiercely loyal to Cierra and are cousins. Aside from Cierra and Meng, Song and Juan were the ones Mystic was closest to.

Kang

A stallion that was a leader of a separate group of Liberators. He was Cierra's biggest rival in that business, but before that, they were sweet on one another until differences and Kang's betrayal drove them apart. He met his end when Cierra brutally drowned him to take his gang for herself.

The Leader and the Second Leader

The Leader was a pony that was in charge of Imperial City and was the reason why Mystic's punishment wasn't as harsh when Hong wanted it to be harsh. However, when he died, the Second Leader was put in charge and Hong managed to get his grip around him to act as a puppet while Hong did what he could to rebuild the city as he wanted. As of Part 2, the Second Leader is still on the throne but is still acting as Hong's puppet.

The Triple Trio (Jinjing, Chen, and Mei)

A trio of pegasi that are thieving criminals. They offered Mystic hospitality and food after she had a horrible time out in the City's slums. They tricked her into robbing a fancy resort and ended up leaving her as Mystic was arrested. Jinjing is a red female pegasus (and was the friendliest to Mystic as an act), Chen is a male grey pegasus, and Mei is a female orange pegasus.

Wherever the Light Shines: Part 2

Nightfall

A mysterious, powerful werehyena (think of a werewolf, only a hyena as such) that has surfaced to take down Equestria. He's cunning, manipulative, and determined to accomplish his objectives. But what his plans and motives are, remain a mystery.

Ghadra

A mean, huge in muscle, wearbear that is Nightfall's number one trusted assosiate. Ghadra prides himself on creatures fearing him and takes pleasure in seeing them suffer. Light Nightfall, you do not want to cross paths with him.

Mr. Bullion

A powerful businesspony that owns multiple branches across Equestria and has connections to Congressponies within the Equestrian government. He uses his position, and without any evidence to support it, to abuse Twilight and company to put the School more and more under scrutiny. But is there more than meets the eye to him and his motives?

Starry and Lucky

Mr. Bullion's sons that bully ponies at the School of Friendship. They've been there for months, and Twilight's been wanting to help them, but they're not cooperating and don't seem to be changing anytime soon.

Shadow Prism, Armored Spear, and Obsidian Note

The three congressponies Mr. Bullion is in contact with. Shadow Prism is is known for providing excellent intel about Equestria's stats and strategic in her approaches to situations. Armored Spear is mostly into the stats of the military and makes sure they're in top form. In addition, he also gives info to the captain of the guard when he needs it. Obsidian Note is Mr. Bullion's best stallion in the political business and is known on excellent intel on court cases for Equestria's best interests.

Moonlight Star

She was Starlight Glimmer's mother, and when Starlight last saw her mother before her passing, it wasn't pleasant and it haunts Starlight to this day.

Tokuta
A werewolf in charge of his Wolf Society that believes everything should function perfectly without any hiccups along the way. However, his worldviews are shaken when the Mane Six and Co. arrive. dark grey fur. He’s skinny, but very lean. He wears a dark blue cloak with some dark blue pants. He also has yellow piercing eyes.

Accalia

A curious she-wolf that serves under Tokuta and her brother Gunnolf, that wants to experience more of the world and has so many questions about it. She has grey fur and turquoise eyes.

Gunnolf

The captain of Tokuta's Pack and he's fiercely loyal to his Majestic Werewolf. He's been at odds recently with his sister, Accalia, and her desire to see life outside of the Pack's ways. He has dark grey fur and green eyes.

Lieutenant Jia

Imperial City's Lieutenant Jia is a loyal soldier to the city she's sworn to protect and serve, and is closest to Captain Lei out of everypony. She's one of the best soldiers the City has and expects a lot from her.

Fun fact; Jia is named after a previous character I wrote in an unrelated story and I thought it'd be cool to use it in this story.

Captain Lei

General Hong's second in command who is loyal to him and the city. He and Jia are like brother and sister behind professional attitudes and behavior, but sometimes they have their differences.

Fun fact; Lei is also named after a previous character like Jia is.

General Amra

King Clawdius' main lion that was in charge of leading an invasion against the land of Equestria. He had a lover named Leandra, but they were eternally separated when the armies of Canterlot and Imperial City thwarted their invasion and Mystic ended his life to do what she came to do.

Leandra

Leandra is the second in command of Amra's squad to invade Equestria. She is a fierce, brutal, and unforgiving lioness to all of those under her command. She is fiercely loyal to the King and will do anything to please him. However, she and what remained of her squad were forced to retreat after her lover's death and their failed attempt to invade Equestria.

King Clawdius
Thank you again RS-Belle14 for the name. He is a werelion, the ruler of all Oogundaa and longs to expand his territory. But his attempt failed when Amra fell and Leandra had to retreat with what she had left.

Chief Faraji

The chief of the impala antelopes that loves his people and provides aid to those whenever they're needed. He longs for Oogundaa to be restored and what's best for his people. He has a son named Berko and a daughter named Ebele.

Amare

A well-respected kudu in his community and is one of Chief Zane's trusted associates and he was practically like a brother to Zane while growing up.

Chief Zane

The chief of the kudu antelopes in his thriving village. He seems to have something sinister underneath all his polite and charming attitude, but he does provide and protect all of his kind.

Wherever the Light Shines: Part 3

The Entity

A being that's taken up Nightfall's work of pulling the strings in the background and is in coordination with Hong, Bullion, and the Congressponies.
