Really feeling for Knighty right now. *Blog entry for link has been deleted.*
As many of you know, I am very acquainted with that type of hopelessness and depression.
Thinking more to the (hopefully) distant future, if the FiMfiction site were to come to an end, especially while I haven't completed A Deer Named John, I would look to moving it to another site.
At the moment that would be AO3 (Archive of Our Own) but I would not actually move over there until FiMfiction is gone out of respect to Knighty and the wonderful site they have created along with all those who have contributed in any way, mods, admins, story-approvers, writers, editors and readers, to make it what it currently is, and the community it has had such a large hand in fostering.
Moving there I may not be able to have the same name (who knows, it can happen) but I would do my best to use the same story titles to make it easier for those who have previously enjoyed them to find them again. I would also talk with Equestria Daily about how to handle that change for A Deer Named John with regard to their site. I don't doubt if it happened, it would be a crazy time for them as well with fics moving to different sites and needing all the adjustments to function. I would not envy them.
Again, this is just a preemptive contingency and nothing changes unless this wonderful site goes away.
Knighty. We love you and only truly want what is best for your health. If that means taking a step back and relinquishing some control, so be it. If it means the end of the site, then it will have been an amazing ride we have shared and we thank you for giving us the chance to share it with you.

*edit* I have read the edit Knighty added to their post. Although comforting to know that they aren't suicidal and the site isn't going down, still sending them my love. I know how heavy that darkness is.
