    I will return to G5

    Hey, guys. Mr. J here.

Just so you're aware, I am planning to return to MLP G5: both watching Tell Your Tale and Make Your Mark. Now, I don't remember if I ever told you all about this, but I did inform some of y'all that I've given up hope for G5 because the episodes I watched around that time (two years ago) were so forgettable and boring.

***********

Greetings, ladies and gentlemen! This evening, I will be reviewing this not-so-bad Marvel movie called Doctor Strange from 2016. I cannot really say for sure that this was a great movie and such, but I will say that this was actually kinda decent... okayish kind of movie. I mean, I’m not particularly a fan of Doctor Strange in general or of his origin story that this film shows, but I might warm up more to him eventually by the time the films featuring him will be released. Anyway, since there isn’t much to say about this one, let’s get right into it, shall we?

Benedict Cumberbatch was actually good in this film. I can’t think of anyone else who can play a better role as Doctor Strange. I love his sense of humor, helpful and intelligent personality, and entertaining character development. He is one of the few characters I enjoyed in this film. Chiwetel Ejiofor was also really good in this as Mordo. I enjoyed the interactions he had with Strange as a semi-mentor and close friend during his training. The same can be said for Benedict Wong who played as... Wong. I smiled at the part where he laughed at the end of the final battle whereas throughout the movie, he had a straight face. Now THAT is character development! Lol!

The action scenes were decent, but the visuals and the CGI were amazing. They remind me of the visual effects from Christopher Nolan’s Inception as it also had those same reality-altering sequences. It is just as visually appealing in this film. Very nice...

The story was... well, it was not groundbreaking or amazing, but it wasn’t boring either... so I’ll give it that. I’m not sure if I was expecting more from this movie in regards to the action or story or the characters, but I wasn’t exactly a fan of where they were going with this. I guess that I’m not that big on Doctor Strange as a solo character just yet. Only time will tell.

The villain—Kaecilius—was decent at best. He was a little interesting with his menacing personality and all, but he was more or less... okay. That’s just it about him.

The comedy however was good. The part where Strange kept attempting to strike a bargain with Dormammu was absolutely hilarious. Every time that beast kept killing his other personas, Strange keeps coming back to the point where he made Dormammu quit-rage. I laughed so hard at that! I bet Thanos would get the same reaction from that if Strange pulled that on him! I hope he does it again in the Multiverse of Madness movie.

So... yeah. This gets a 6/10. This is not a movie I would watch again, but it was okay for what it was. Peace.

I never trusted Mordo. The moment I heard his name, I recognized his role in the Masters of Evil.

Considering the fact that "Doctor Strange: In the Multiverse of Madness" is said to involve Strange doing further research on the Time Stone and Mordo returning as the main antagonist, do you think the sequel would do better as something that takes place before Infinity War more than after Endgame?

In all honesty, I personally can't seem to picture how it'd work as something that takes place after the latter. It's mainly because the Time Stone was clearly destroyed by Thanos in the present, and when the Avengers borrowed the past version of it they had to return it to the time period they got it from afterwards.

I don’t care what route they take with the sequel in terms of which time period this is happening. I just want it to be better than the first movie.

The villain—Kaecilius—was decent at best. He was a little interesting with his menacing personality and all, but he was more or less... okay. That’s just it about him.

Looking back on the character more, the one thing I felt saddened by regarding him was that he wasn’t given as much screentime as the director promised. Heck, there was this one deleted scene featuring the character entering the church he and his followers were shown to be enacting the spell from, which begs the question as to why it was cutdown from him first interacting with the priest to just him and his pals activating the spell.
