Greetings, everyone! Today, I will be reviewing 2018’s sequel to the Ant-Man film called Ant-Man and the Wasp. I honestly had a little trouble trying to decide if I like this film more than the first one or just the same. After a few moments of going back and forth with that thought, I think that this film is slightly better than its predecessor. I mean, it obviously has higher stakes, an equally menacing “villain”, and so much hope (no pun intended) being built around the rediscovery of Hope’s long-lost mother from the space and time dimension. But frankly, I love it as much as I like the first as well.

Paul Rudd and Evangeline Lilly were even more awesome than ever, and their characters had a much more interesting and active chemistry together as the movie title literally shows us. Peyton Reed once more outdid himself with the great direction and blueprint he provided for this movie and for the story to the writers, producers, animators, and actors.

The action scenes were perfectly directed and executed to make them as investing, funny, and entertaining as possible. Also, the cinematography was not bad, the editing was good, and the soundtrack was quite decent.

Once again, Michael Pena was fantastic in this movie as Luis with his usual sense of humor and comedy-styled flashbacks. It just makes me laugh every time, seeing those characters lip-sinc every time he dialogues for them or whatever. Man, the comedy in this film will never get old. (Gasp) Wait... perhaps Luis could have been the one to stand against Thanos. I can imagine it going like this:

Thanos: Where... is the infinity stone?

Luis: Yo, man, that’s a complicated question. But this is how it went down: *expositions for five minutes straight with no sweat*

Thanos: I will now snap myself out of existence... *snaps his finger and dies*

🤣🤣 I couldn’t resist!

Anyway, I was actually impressed with how they handled Ghost/Ava in this. To me, she is wasn’t really a villain. She was just someone who was misguided by her thirst for revenge and thought that by hurting others she could get what she wanted to heal herself from the ghostly pain before she would die. She really needed that love and healing from Janet to realize that her ways were damaging to herself and to others. I really felt bad for her after loosing her parents and her childhood after that accident.

Brilliant acting from Michael Douglas and Laurence Fishburne. Hmm, Mr. Fishburne? Why does his face look so familiar? I could have sworn I’ve seen his face in some other films before—*sees that he was featured in Batman vs Superman: Dawn of Justice and Man of Steel*—ohhh, I see.

So yeah, I love this movie more than the first. 10/10! Peace!

Bro, that was a terrible joke.

I really liked Fishburne's performance as Perry White and I am looking forward to see him portray Bill Foster (a.k.a Goliath) in more MCU films.

Fun Fact: He also provided the voice of Silver Surfer in the second Fantastic Four movie.
