Greetings, everyone. Today, I will be reviewing 2015’s Ant-Man movie. Now, Ant-Man is actually a very interesting character in this universe as he is someone who is struggling to live a much better life after spending his time in prison for theft. Desiring to see his little daughter again, Scott Lang must prove himself that he is a changed man and must also find a job and house so that he can see her and his ex-wife. Gosh, I just love the way they wrote his character and made him so sympathetic and yet likewise funny. Paul Rudd did quite amazingly as Ant-Man and had so much fun with the role it would seem.

The comedy is well executed thanks to the effort put forth by Michael Pena, T. I., and David Dastmalchian. Huh, it’s funny how Michael Pena was much more funny as Luis in these films than he was as Grubber in the My Little Pony movie. I mean, I just love his enthusiasm whenever he interacts with Scott Lang and company and every time he does a flashback story. Ha, I can imagine the reactions of these actors every time they had to lip-sinc Luis’s dialogue during the flashback scenes. There’s no way they kept a straight face during the film-making. 🤣

I liked the Falcon cameo in this film where he and Ant-Man meet for the first time. The action scenes were terrific and well directed. I especially loved the parts where Scott had to shrink down and meet all these trained ants and when he went on a mission. The animators must have had a hell of a time working on those frames. Excellent work there, Peyton Reed!

Evangeline Lilly was awesome in this movie. Her character, Hope, was troubled and saddened over the apparent loss of her mother after she sacrificed herself to stop that missile from harming innocent lives. It’s one of the reasons why the sequel was so epic and had Hope even more badass as Wasp; of course, you guys will see more of my reasons for tomorrow’s review of that film. Anyway, I like her personality and her chemistry with Scott. She didn’t like him at first until they had that heart-to-heart talk which speaks volumes of how much they both have suffered and can relate to a certain degree when it comes to family and being with those you dearly love. That’s just how emotional those scenes were. Oh, and I liked her hairstyle in this film.

Michael Douglas was also really good in this. His Hank Pym character just reminds me of Batman in a way; speaking of which, I think him and Hank would be great allies since they have some things in common. They both know how to handle their own heroes-in-training. (Scott and Terry). I like his sense of humor and his no-nonsense attitude and how he interacted with Scott. Quite a dynamic duo, am I right?

The villain—Darren Cross/Yellow Jacket— was decent I guess. I do like his classy personality and his determination to get things his way, but I didn’t like his arrogance and stubbornness to accomplish his plans. It would have been better if he and Scott would have a more personal connection rather than just first meet each other around the climax of the movie. Other than that, he was still decent. So props to Corey Stoll for quite a good villain performance.

So this movie is really good and definitely recommendable. 9/10.

Peace.

Yeah, Hank's attitude could have been better.

I would love to hear Grubber narrate the plot of the MLP movie like Luis.
