Mortal Kombat vs. EG, Round Three · 11:56pm Mar 5th, 2021
Hello again, one and all. 
Time once again for another batch of Mortal Kombat fight banter!
Similar to "Round Two," I picked out a roster of kombatants that hadn't been really done yet and worked to come up with a set of dialogue for each of them, against a variety of characters.
First up?
The brutal, flesh-eating warrior of the Tarkatan nomads, Baraka.
Baraka: “Think your wings are faster than my blades?”
Rainbow Dash: “Think so? I know so, gruesome!”
Baraka: “I will enjoy slicing you, human.”
Aria Blaze: “What’re you sniffing the air for?”
Baraka: “Where is the seafood that Rainbow Dash spoke of?”
Aria Blaze: “Ugh. Of course she did.”
Baraka: “Speak plainly to me, princess.”
Princess Twilight: “Your people need to embrace the magic of friendship.”
Baraka: “Friendship? War is what makes Tarkata strong!”
Rarity: “Ugh, darling! Are you drooling?”
Baraka: “Because I’m about to taste human flesh!”
Rarity: “Not today, not ever, you foul brute.”
Baraka: “How did you survive this long in Outworld?”
Fluttershy: “The creatures here aren’t so bad if you can understand them.”
Baraka: “You have stronger magic than I had thought.”
Applejack: “You ever thought about not slaughterin’ your neighbors?”
Baraka: “You would have Tarkata abandon its traditions?”
Applejack: “Tradition’s no good if it just kills people.”
Next on the roster... a longtime favorite for fans of Mortal Kombat. The blockbuster movie star with a big ego and a hidden heart of gold... Johnny Cage.
Johnny Cage: “I hear you’re looking to make it big someday.”
Rarity: “Yes, but certainly not through the casting couch!”
Johnny Cage: “Wait, what?! Not what I meant!”
Flash Sentry: “It’s none of your business.”
Johnny Cage: “Did you, or did you not, ever kiss the horse lady?”
Flash Sentry: “Can we stop talking about this?!”
Johnny Cage: “You know a thing or two about time travel?”
Princess Twilight: “More than I’d care to remember.”
Johnny Cage: “So we talking Groundhog Day stuff here? Or Back to the Future? C’mon!”
Rainbow Dash: “Got a role for me in your next movie?”
Johnny Cage: “Johnny Cage doesn’t do sidekicks, Dash.”
Rainbow Dash: “Sidekicks!?”
Johnny Cage: “Sorry sweetie, definitely not interested.”
Adagio Dazzle: “Aw, scared that I’ll steal your heart?”
Johnny Cage: “More like you’ll bleed me to a husk.”
Sunset Shimmer: “I already told you, the answer’s no.”
Johnny Cage: “Aw c’mon, little girls freaking love unicorns!”
Sunset Shimmer: “My life story is not becoming a movie!”
...And, just for shiggles, have this other exchange I made up with him... 
Johnny Cage: “Your motive is like, cuckoo for cocoa puffs, lady.”
Abacus Cinch: “My students were infected with magic. I did nothing wrong!”
Johnny Cage: “Do you even, hear yourself talk?”
Next on the lineup? Part of the next generation of kombatants -- Cassie Cage, daughter of Johnny and Sonya Blade.
Cassie Cage: “Real talk, those diamonds are boss.”
Rarity: “Why thank you, Miss Cage!”
Cassie Cage: “Just make sure you know how to use them.”
Adagio Dazzle: “Ooh, I could use a new cheerleader.”
Cassie Cage: “This cheerleader’s got bite, Siren.”
Adagio Dazzle: “Mm, excellent.”
Cassie Cage: “You’re actually a unicorn?”
Sunset Shimmer: “From the land of Equestria and all.”
Cassie Cage: “God, if I were a kid right now…”
Pinkie Pie: “You’ve never had an actual birthday party?”
Cassie Cage: “Mom was busy, Dad had some stuff to work out.”
Pinkie Pie: “I Pinkie Promise to get that fixed as soon as possible!”
Cassie Cage: “So what’s the deal with you and Shimmer?”
Flash Sentry: “That’s kind of personal, Commander.”
Cassie Cage: “Better sort it out quick then, trust me.”
Aria Blaze: “You’re in charge of those Special Forces losers?”
Cassie Cage: “I can think of five different ways to kill you, right now.”
Aria Blaze: “Hehe. I might actually like you.”
Going to do one of the iconic villains of the Mortal Kombat series next.
Please welcome the master schemer, shapeshifter and soul-stealer himself... Shang Tsung.
Shang Tsung: "Shining Armor sends his regards."
Princess Twilight: "...What did you do?"
Shang Tsung: "His soul is now mine. And soon, so will yours."
Shang Tsung: "Think. Why would Adagio send you?"
Aria Blaze: "Because I'll do the job right."
Shang Tsung: "You are but a pawn to be sacrificed."
Shang Tsung: "Sunset Shimmer, the prodigal student herself."
Sunset Shimmer: "You're going to pay for what you did to Twilight."
Shang Tsung: "Your empathy shackles you, my dear."
Rainbow Dash: "Been following me, creep?"
Shang Tsung: "Join me and I will unlock your true potential."
Rainbow Dash: "Dude, you just made Zephyr Breeze look tame."
Sci-Twi: "I'll free every soul you've taken."
Shang Tsung: "Such magic is beyond you, child."
Sci-Twi: "I won't give up, Shang Tsung."
Shang Tsung: "How brave of you to confront me."
Fluttershy: "I won't stand back and let you hurt others."
Shang Tsung: *scoffs* "You are no champion."
Shang Tsung: "Serve me, Applejack."
Applejack: "What makes you think I'd ever leave my friends for you?"
Shang Tsung: "Why, to spare your family's souls, of course."
Next up, another adversary. The supremely entitled, water-controlling demigod with ambitions of total power, Rain.
Rain: "We do not have to be enemies."
Sunset Shimmer: "What makes you think we can be friends?"
Rain: "I too, know what it is to be denied one's rightful place."
Applejack: "Your father's done wrong by you."
Rain: "Argus denied me my divine birthright."
Applejack: "Ain't no reason to be a backstabbing snake in the grass."
Rain: "I did not grant you an audience."
Adagio Dazzle: "I don't need anyone's permission, Rain."
Rain: "Your bravado amuses me, Siren."
Trixie: "Are you ready to face the Great and Powerful Trixie?"
Rain: "You test yourself against a god, mortal."
Trixie: "And people say that Trixie has an ego."
Rain: "Here on behalf of your sun princess?"
Princess Twilight: "Here to stop you from hurting anyone else."
Rain: "Celestia should fight me herself."
Rainbow Dash: "You've betrayed everyone you've ever worked with."
Rain: "I am no one's lackey, mortal."
Rainbow Dash: "You have serious issues, dude."
Rain: "I offer vast wealth, Rarity."
Rarity: "All the diamonds in the world are not worth my friends."
Rain: "I will not make the offer a second time, dressmaker."
Last on the lineup: the long-lived gunslinger of Outworld... the mercenary who goes all the way back to the Old West, Erron Black.
Erron Black: "I don't much cotton to friendship."
Princess Twilight: "It's the only path to harmony, Black."
Erron Black: "Harmony don't pay the bills, Princess."
Applejack: "You shot your own father?!"
Erron Black: "Trust me. Bastard got what he deserved."
Applejack: "Anybody willing to do that ain't to be trusted."
Erron Black: "Family means a lot to ya, don't it?"
Applejack: "And I'm guessing it doesn't mean much to you."
Erron Black: "You ever met my folks, you'd change your tune all right."
Princess Twilight: "Shang Tsung slowed your aging with magic."
Erron Black: "Yeah, I'm your huckleberry, what of it?"
Princess Twilight: "There must be so much history you can tell me!"
Erron Black: "You want Sunset so bad? Get her yourself."
Adagio Dazzle: "Hmph. Has she melted your heart too?"
Erron Black: "My 'heart' wants to get paid first."
Rainbow Dash: "You're only loyal to yourself."
Erron Black: "I'm loyal as long as the money's good."
Rainbow Dash: "Yeah, like that's any better."

Haha, indeed. There will definitely be a hell of a battle to ensue.
Shang Tsung has centuries of combat experience, hordes of souls to draw on, and is an accomplished sorcerer... but I bet he might still be surprised by the fight that Twilight Sparkle could give him, now that she is, let's say sufficiently motivated to bring the pain.

Twilight is a very accomplish spellcaster in her own right and can just reverse gravity, watch him float into space. Is it flashy? No. But it would work. Also this guy hurt her brother. She's not terribly inclined to be nice.

Thank you. Twilight may not be the protagonist of a battle show, but she's got a sharp mind, a lot of mana and bone to pick. Also, Want-It-Need-It. Mind magic is generally scary, so a compulsion that powerful combined with the rest of her arsenal, and her ability to apparently copy any spell she sees, even once and you have a being who would very much rather NOT fight you because she CHOOSES to not be a violent creature, not because she's incapable of inflicting violence upon others. And should she decide that it's time to inflict violence, well...

Precisely. She is generally nice and more than willing to talk things through if you're willing to be civilized for five minutes. That said, again, she is a pacifist by choice, not out of an inability to inflict harm.

Sadly, all too often it seems that there are people who don't understand that.
I remember a great bit of dialogue from, a fanmade Overwatch comic, I believe. The robo-monk Zenyatta intervenes in a shakedown by a mobster to another robot. The thug sneers off Zenyatta's peaceful overtures... and then the robo-monk flattens him with a heel to the chin.
He then helps the guy up, politely explains how he would rather make peace than just beat down those who disagree with him, and offers him a chance to try and talk things over again. The crook is wise and accepts it.

That's Martial Pacifist in a nutshell. If they CAN solve things without violence, great. They are not interested in throwing the first punch. But if it DOES come down to a fight, they are very capable of throwing the last one.

Great list here; I especially like Shang Tsung's dialogue. But boy did he make a mistake with Twilight.
