G5 looks decent, and the only people who complain are the ones that are still butthurt that G4 couldn't go on indefinitely without inevitably dying on its own accord.
The switch from 2D to 3D is total bs because the industry doesn't respect 2D animation enough nor does it want to put in the effort to take the major risk. However, the movie still looks decent and that won't detract from my enjoyment. Because at the end of the day, the movie is about motherfucking ponies tearing down North Korean forces through the power of friendship.
The My Little Pony: FiM Movie was good. You just set your expectations way too high.

I was skeptical about the jump to 3D, but I do like the artstyle we've been shown so far. They did a good job of making them still look like equines, but cartoony.
I wasn't exactly reeing at the Activist Rumours, but I was still a little skeptical all the same. From the sound of things, Sunny's initial efforts are going to be misguided and unsuccesful. I like this. I like the idea that she has her heart in the right place but fails miserably in the execution. It makes her way more interesting.
Cautiously optimistic about the G5 Movie myself. Rewatched the FiM movie last weekend as well, and was pleasantly surprised by how enjoyable it was.

Yeah, G5 looks fine so far. I'm looking forward to seeing more of it, but I don't think it's going to supersede my passion for FIM. Still hoping it'll be some good pony material, though.
And honestly, the FIM movie gave us Tempest Shadow, so it surpassed my expectations. Then again, it also gave us Grubber. It's a delicate balance.

Japanese, as I used to live in Japan. But as I have no interest in using the language in any practical manner—and no interest in living overseas again—I've fallen out of practice with it.

I visited Europe and Asia, I was in America (USA), my homeland, but never actualy LIVED in there 🤷
