Oh man, so this has been a few months in the making, and it was so worth the wait.

Red is also a fairly avid Fimmy Fic reader, so he took the time to actually read YCH, and picked out a few scenes he liked, and so I picked one of those and he did the arts! I'm not really into doing special cover arts for my stories... although, after this one, now I'm starting to change my mind on the idea. Look out, I may start getting other fancy artsy fartsy images done for other stories, and upcoming projects.
Actually, that's a good segway right there, so lets do that.
Deep breath. Hello, all, how are you?
What a time it's been, the last year, hasn't it? Lockdowns and junk right after my birthday last year, and we're nearly to that point again. Me? Oh, my life has not really changed much. I'm still working, because I'm considered blue collar and can't work from home (not that I'd want to, honestly). In fact, thanks to the airlines suffering, private and charter jets have been going crazy. Since June, we've been outselling each proceeding month, with this February having done our best sales records... well, ever, actually. I've also been getting shifted over from line work (basically the gas station part of aviation) to more maintenance, and it's been really good for me. Except during November and December, but I'm not gonna go into that mess.
So, now what people actually probably care about, my stories.
It has been slow. I don't want to say I've not been inspired to write, because I have done a few small things over in the Quills and Sofa's speed writing server, but to actually sit down on older works that are still in progress (mainly The Whittler, Dibs, and An Even Worse Self Insert) has been really tough. I'm not sure if it's just me, being busy and tired or just... I keep wanting to say uninspired, but honestly I'm not!
I've dabbled in the idea of doing frequent update posts. I tried to do that with Tumblr back in the day, only to flop. Same with my Twatter, but again, flop. I'm not the best when it comes to social media...
I don't want to sit here and give you a bunch of empty promises, like "oh yeah it's coming soon!" and junk, because I just don't adhere to my own times. I have been, lately, doing a lot more pre-reading and editing for others, which has helped keep me going in the community and writing as a whole, but it also has the unfortunate side effect of taking me away from my own works. I mean, maybe that's good? A break? But I take so long between updates, that it's a lame excuse, and even I don't buy it.
I guess what I can tell you, is that number one on my priority list is The Whittler. I really want to get that one done, and we're finally getting there, having passed the halfway point. Characters are set, we had some good laughs, but now time for the serious and drama. This story wasn't meant to be a slice of life, and I feel like I juked people on that because at first it appears like that, and I also tagged it SoL. Man... I suck at tagging too. But I did it, and so I have to own up to it, and I'll be doing my best to keep it enjoyable.
Once The Whittler is done, I do have another story idea for a Human in Equestria fic that will be 100% devoted to Slice of Life, but I promised myself no new major fics until Whittler's done.
The other story previously mentioned is Dibs. That is the one people voted for way back when, for me to finally sit down and wrap up. I had assembled a crew to help me do this, but one's up and gone, and the other I think is either busy or I'm just horrible at communicating and we've not done diddly. Again, I'm bad at this.
Numbero threeo is a long planned out project between myself and Fregz, which I've decided to bump up on my priority list.
After that... I'm not sure, really. I want to get some other things done, do a few more one shot ideas I've had floating around, then begin on sequels for a few of my other stories (such as YCH ((yay)) and Expecting Expectations). I've also had a commission sitting on the side lines to do (I'm so sorry Doom), and then start doing more commissions. I was only doing one slot at a time, but I'm thinking about... two. Life on the edge, that's for sure.
So, that's it. That's my super late plan for 2021, that will probably not even work out, but I like to dream.
