    I will return to G5

    Hey, guys. Mr. J here.

Just so you're aware, I am planning to return to MLP G5: both watching Tell Your Tale and Make Your Mark. Now, I don't remember if I ever told you all about this, but I did inform some of y'all that I've given up hope for G5 because the episodes I watched around that time (two years ago) were so forgettable and boring.

Hey there! Mr. J is here with another Disney film review of Brother Bear! Just like with the last movie I reviewed, this is also one of those Disney films I grew up watching. But as of now, this is not a movie that I would consider one of my favorites. Still, it wonderfully told the story of a man who became a bear after the loss of his dear brother and killed a bear out of revenge. The same guy who always hated those animals then became a bear himself. Ironic...

Kenai was certainly very interesting in that aspect. He was arrogant, cocky, yet still brave in his own way. But boy, his older brother’s death really changed him and emboldened him to go through a revenge cycle. What did that lead him to? Murder. Murder of a bear who was later revealed as the mother of our deuteragonist: Koda. Honestly, he was such a cute character with full of fun and personality although he was a little annoying in some instances. The voice acting by Jeremy Suarez was great in Koda.

Oh, and it really amazes me that Joaquin Phoenix actually voiced Kenai in this movie. The Joker was a bear before? That’s interesting to know! But jokes aside, he did fairly good as Kenai.

Rutt and Tuke were by far the most hilarious and entertaining characters in this entire movie. I love their interactions, humor, and bickering they had with one another through it all. I remember back when I had this on DVD, I would often play their commentary as they watched the movie within one of the setup options of the main menu. I just loved their comments and their reactions they gave. Rick Moranis and Dave Thomas were fantastic in playing their respective characters.

This movie gave right lessons about love and brotherhood. If we allow hatred and vengeance to cloud our reasoning and judgement, we will end up hurting others and ourselves like how Kenai had done in this film. I really liked the way they wrote this story. The animation was great, and the music score was top-notch to be honest.

So this film was great. I would rate it a 9/10. Now... if this film had wild cats as the main characters, I would rate it higher. Lol 😂 I’m just biased for cats in general. Bears? Ehhh... they’re okay. Anyway, I still recommend this. Peace out, Autobots. ✌🏼

Funnily enough, I watched this film for the first time just last week. Talk about a coincidence, amirite?

I could've done without Phil Collins ballading over the confession scene, but other than that nitpick, it's probably my favorite film of Disney's early-2000s post-Renaissance era. Would recommend!

I'm glad to call you my friend.
