Hey, it's been a while.
Well, it was going to come to this, eventually. So how about we start from the beginning?
Hi, my name is Carter, and I have been writing on this site for almost 8 whole years now. Yeah, a long time, I know-- my first story was all the way back in 2013 when I was only 11 years old! Needless to say, the quality of it shows my youthful inexperience.
But I digress-- the point of this blog post:
I'm done.
Not because I'm tired of writing, but actually the opposite, I've been writing nothing but My Little Pony fanfiction for a large portion of my rather short life so far, and I want to branch out and move on with my career as a writer. To keep it brief, I intend on making some original stories at some point in the future, and I haven't quite decided on distribution, yet, but it'll most likely be Wattpad or FictionPress. But my time writing on this site has passed.
But this isn’t me abandoning this site-- it’s been fun-- great, even– I can gladly say that I don't regret my time on FIMFiction, and it's given me more than my fair share of experience that I hope to carry with me wherever I go next. Not to mention the stories that came first-- Sonic: Adventures in Equestria, Halo 5 (guess I called that one), Iron Mare, and my first larger fanfic: The Trotting Dead, and then, my personal magnum opus: The Zombie War. That universe I wrote not only kept me going during my less than enjoyable years, but it let me experiment with different characters outside of MLP, including The Powerpuff Girls, Winx Club, Vocaloid, and so many more. But possibly my statistical magnum opus goes to Depression, a story about a boy trying to find himself again and the troubles he finds along the way. After that? I tackle a connected fanfic universe with the adventures of Spider-Pip, a story in a mirror world where an alternate Pipsqueak having been bitten by the radioactive spider and gaining powers to match those of the mystical Geodes worn by the sinister Rainbooms.
However, my earliest stories can’t be seen at the moment, but I may re-upload them in the near future, raw and unedited, but not to mock my younger self, but to show how far anyone can come in any industry with time, practice, and proper criticism. Don't get me wrong, I'm no Shakespeare, but I choose to believe that I've come a far way from only writing 200 words a chapter or blindly lashing out at "haters" who I now realize were just trying to help me improve my writing with their criticism (most, but not all).
