I've made the last of my revisions, photochopped together a title image, and hit the submit button. All in all, I'm incredibly proud of this story. There are as many reasons to hate it as to love it, but I personally feel that it's my best work so far. Not my most appealing to general audiences, and far from the playful tone that's drawn most of my followers so far, but absolutely my best.
But may Celestia have mercy on me, because I know the people who read it won't.

Dunno! Story ratings do seem to be strongly influenced by the first couple of ratings and comments. (I think a similar effect shows up on YouTube, but I might be misremembering something I read, so don't quote me on that.) Anyway, I just figured they were from folks who found the entire concept distasteful, regardless of the craftsmanship.
