it is getting really difficult atm
we moved our PC into our new bedroom today, and when we got it there, it wouldn't boot up anymore. we reseated cables and cards, all the fans are spinning, everything seems powered, but the thing won't boot. it seems to be a physical problem with the power button the case.
we tried looking up a motherboard schematic and locating the power button cable, which we seemed to finally do, but unlike the other ones on the internet, it doesn't appear to be a standard 2-prong connector. therefore we had no luck jumping it, though we're a complete idiot and wouldn't know how to do something like that anyway.
we gave up after about an hour of troubleshooting. we can't figure anything out and it seems definitely a hardware problem which we are terrible at and we just don't know what to do. one thing and another and now this.
i can theoretically work/write on this laptop i have, but the keyboard is awful and the laptop is barely functional. i still also have not gotten my PayPal account unlocked, so receiving payment for work would be impossible anyway. at least everyone i contacted seemed okay with waiting until we have our payment issues sorted out to finish their commissions... but what if PayPal never unlocks our account? what if we never find a way to work again? there's no way in hell we could ever afford to repair or replace our computer without working to supplement our disability. with our paypal locked getting by has been harder than ever, and the only reason we have any food at the moment is due to certain generous people working incredibly hard to find some way to get us money without using PayPal. we have an immense amount of gratitude for those people, but we are feeling so beat down by existence that we don't know how we're ever going to find the creative energy to thank you properly.
in short, we feel fucked. we were strongly considering suicide today, but then we realized we don't even have enough money to buy painkillers to try offing ourselves again. not like we'd be brave enough anyway. taking a lot of tylenol really hurts.
i'm sorry. i really am. i'm sorry my stupid life is such a fuck up and that i never managed to learn how to be a human being or fix any of my problems. i'm not freezing to death on the street right now but i'm pretty close to it, and i've been there before, and maybe that's where i belong.

Same or a discord if you want. I would start with unplugging your pc from the wall holding in the power button 10 seconds to drain the motherboard of any power then plug it back in and see if anything changes then if it not unplug the power from your HDD/SSD and see if it POST's at all to your monitor. Please don't give up. I also have some experience with PC repair (and a small supply of used components I might be able to send a replacement from should the problem be identified.) I'd be happy to help. I believe that paypal only ever freezes accounts for a maximum of 180 days except in cases of proven fraud (which can seem an eternity, i know.) If there's any other way that you know of for someone to donate to you, please let us all know.

Are you able to receive money via moneygram or western union up in the great white north? I don't known if they have those in Canada, and I think they require a photo ID from the recipient, but if PayPal won't cooperate I'd be willing to wire you money the old fashioned way if possible.

Even if you’re capable of convincing them that the money transfers were legit. odds are still quite good that they’ll never unlock the account anyway since they regularly suspend accounts — and seize the money contained therein — that are using their service to buy or sell porn. It’s blatantly illegal but they’re practically untouchable. While I would urge you to continue seeking your money I wouldn’t hold my breath if I were you; consider it gone.

we just looked it up and apparently both moneygram and western union exist/function in Canada. now that we think about it, a pony friend wired us some money using moneygram way back in the day in our first year of college when our student loans didn't come through.
we also etransfer through our bank a lot, but that probably doesn't work internationally :x

I'm in America so I'm not sure if this'll work for you wherever you're at:
First, let your bank know that you're going to be making an unusual purchase so it doesn't get flagged as theft and held up while the credit card company makes investigations. When you call the bank, do not select "credit card services" on the phone tree. Select "member services" (if it's a credit union) or "customer services" or something like that. Get to the point where you get a real person so you can explain the situation. Tell them which card you're using and that you'll be using it to make a purchase online from a Canadian seller.
After that call, I gave our bank a couple of hours to get that information where it needed to go. Then, go to Walmart Canada online: https://www.walmart.ca/en/gifts-holidays/gifts/gift-cards/N-4785
There you can buy any denomination of e-gift card with an American credit card in Canadian dollars. It could work the same with any international credit card, but of course I'm not sure. But Walmart's order page does have a dropdown where you input your country, so they must not be discouraging it. It's handiest if you happen to have the money to buy one for over $35 Canadian, because that's the cut off for free shipping. You'll need to get darf's email address and make sure you get it copied correctly since that's the only way that Walmart determines where the e-gift card is going.
You can find out the current exchange rate between your $ and Canadian $, so you know approximately what you'll be billed for. There is no indication when you order what your credit card is actually paying in your own country's money. Also, the credit card company charges a fee for doing an automatic exchange. I read online that it's about 3 percent. None of this will show up until you get your bill; Walmart's receipt just indicates the amount in Canadian dollars, which is what the recipient will see on the card.
Fyi, darf, if you get more than one gift card, Walmart allows using up to four at a time on one purchase, according to their FAQ.
Also, darf, if you do end up getting a lot of packages, keep a close eye and pick them up frequently unless you have a lobby or something where you're living now. If you're not out in the country or in a relatively secure building, people might cotton on that you're getting a lot of packages and thieves do go door-to-door and steal them. Just a heads up.
