Okay, really the alicorns are the best kind of warriors. Their major weakness however is their lack of numbers. Unicorns weakness would be the lack of proficiency in combat magic of the overall population.
Earth ponies while strong, but have a severe lack of mobility issues when compared to Pegasi.
Pegasi can perform lightning strike raids, and flyaway if things get hairy. I could imagine them as saboteur raider units.
Well they might not survive a pitched battle with heavy earth pony soldiers on the ground. They don't necessarily have to fight them up close they can just use ranged weapons if needed.
Imagine how deadly a Pegasi sniper team would be? In a scenario where they get modern weapons.
Reminds me of that scene from Tanya The Evil. Her troops can fly and her opponents can not. It doesn't go well for them.

It's worth noting that Cadance, the only princess consistently shown as being able to fight her way out of a wet paper bag, was born a pegasus. Regardless of whether they "should" be the best warriors, they're the ones who disproportionately train to be.
Most pegasi are far too impetuous to be snipers, but they would make effective dive bombers and if you strap machineguns to them, they could be pretty effective at strafing runs.
