    Never mind, I found one.

    Hello everyone!

I don't know if this is normal, but I always get incredibly anxious whenever I'm about to post or update a story. Anyway, I've been sitting on top of a princest story for a few months now, and I feel like I want to publish it, but for some reason, I'm terrified that it sucks (I've felt that way about everything I've ever published, though, so what else is new?).

Is anyone else freaked out by that drawing of Scootaloo?

You know the one, in the site header. She's up there right now, staring into my soul with her huge marble eyes and her shark-snout and her weird wobbly smirking mouth. And her feathers that look like... Spruce trees?

    Update on the anti-clopfic group

I don't want to declare success prematurely, but it looks like we've won. The group still exists, but its purported purpose has shifted from harassment of specific clopfics to discussion of the members' mutual distaste for clopfics in general, and the group no longer has any stories submitted to it. It looks as though they've purged all the clop readers and writers from the group, so we no longer

Please help me defend clop from unwarranted hate. · 8:50am Nov 30th, 2012

Hi everyone! Thanks for the watches, by the way, it means a lot! I thought I'd use my newly found soapbox to send out a message to help out my fellow clop authors and aficionados.

There's a new group called the anti-clopfic group. It's established for the express purpose of assaulting clop-authors with downvotes and harassing comments. Kind of like the Train Wreck Explorers, except they are perfectly happy to attempt to sink good fics, simply because they are cloppy.

So, if you wouldn't mind, I'd love to see you guys join the group and upvote any good fics that get put there, in order to counteract the immature and impolite behavior of the group's actual members.

We need to show these people that those of us who write and/or enjoy clop have opinions too, and we will stand our ground if others threaten to make life harder for us.

Here's the group; http://www.fimfiction.net/index.php?view=group&group=1910

Thanks, and happy clopping!

Oh,

I just tore down the grammar on their group page, too. This is just sad! Enjoy...

I know you didn't really accept my offer for help with your grammar, but I thought I'd do it anyway, because just thinking of your terrible writing skills makes me want to vomit.

gratious — You meant gratuitous.

anything else relating to pony/human turned pony/pony anthro sex. — Excuse me, what?

human on pony sex — Should read "human-on-pony sex."

other sex able beings with ponies — That's not a clause. Not even close.

one shot — one-shot

For here you are safe. — Missing comma.

For here you are with the like-minded. — Get rid of that "for." You shouldn't start two sentences in a row like that. Also, needs a comma.

We go on clopfictions — Seriously? You "go on them?" There aren't words for how infantile and Neanderthaloid that sounds.

distaste of them — 'for', not 'of'.

The point of this group is to alert everyone within — ... Within what? I'm sure you meant to imply 'within this group,' but your sentence simply doesn't do that. It should be...

You know what? Never mind. I'm just going to rewrite that whole line, because there is simply nothing right about it.

'The point of this group is to alert its members of one-shot clopfics being posted, so that we can dispose of them properly. That's why there are clop fictions in this group.'

"They place all the bad fiction they see into one of the folders they have"

No, they don't. They place bad fiction into the appropriate folder. If they placed all the bad fiction into one of their folders, there wouldn't be any point in the other folders. You detestable twit.

"(even though they are)"

A sarcastic parenthetical statement? Tsk... Also, the sentence that statement is a part of should be moved nearer to the end of the paragraph, your paragraph makes very little sense as it stands.

"They take any the fic"

*cough*

"review it and criticize it"

Oxford commas, children.

"HOWEVER"

ROYAL CANTERLOCK VOICE!!!!

"This is because if it is more than 10,000 words"

Turn 'is' into 'has', or add 'long' to the end of that clause.

"The fiction is clearly a trollfic, then don't post it."

That sentence needs to start with an 'if'.

"The only exception to this is if it is/gets featured."

What was the point of the 'gets' in that statement? If it gets featured, then it is featured. Did you mean, 'was'?

"...people who are well kept and..." — Correction: 'people who should be well kept.'

"They post" — same deal. 'They should post.'

"clopfictions that are notified of in this group regularly"

That doesn't mean anything. It's not English.

"with at least 2 past"

...and must have at least 2 past... Also, should be 'two', not '2'. Only numbers larger than ten should be written numerically.

"You must be everything a contributor is, plus:"

You must meet all conditions required for contributor status, plus:

"You must have been here for at least three months"

Where is 'here'? This group? FimFiction? That's ambiguous.

"You must be regularly helpful within this group (this is up to admins to decide)"

You must be an active and helpful member within this group.

—————————————————————————————————————

So, yeah. Have a look at that. More than 27 errors in only 31 sentences. To think, you call yourself an author!

seriously? What a bunch of babies.

If you don't like clop, turn off mature stories. buncha babies.

If this group is actively doing what you are saying it is doing, that would be a direct violation of this site's ToS, and it's members could end up banned.

Instead, it would be better to report the group to Knighty, where as they are harassing members through the intentional attacks on such stories, when the stories are perfectly within the guidelines of this site.

I do not recommend joing the group to do as you have suggested, only because such action could be considered participating in a flame war, which in itself, is a violation that could be bannable for.

I value your input, but do you have a link to said Terms of Service? The rules clearly forbid "being a dick" through comments, but there's nothing I can find about joining groups you disagree with to dilute their effects.

554670 not certain where it would be, but still, I would not recommend joining for the reasons I stated.

As soon as I post this comment, I shall be sending a PM to Knighty, and any other moderation members whom I feel should be made known of the offending group.

Thanks for speaking up on this important topic. My last two fics were both targeted for being "one shot clopfics." :twilightangry2:

You just earned yourself another follower!

No problem! Those anti-clop fellows are quite quick to affirm that inaction "allows problems to fester and get worse," so I thought it would be appropriate to give them a taste of their own medicine. It's clear they're going to fail, but I'd like to make that failure as spectacular as possible, and reduce the number of clop-writer casualties.

Thank you for the follow. You are the most famous person to bestow that honor upon me thus far. I shall cherish it always.

Protip: If you're gonna correct someone's grammar, make sure yours is perfect. You made quite a few mistakes in that post.

Secondly, the idea is constructive criticism. You know, helpful advice for authors, regardless of how good the stories are. Helpful advice should be something any author should want, no? If you're gonna write a story, make it a story. If you're gonna write something with sex, explain why. Have a story behind it. Have the necessary buildup and character development. Don't just go:
"Hey, we should have sex!"
"Okay!"
And then proceed to spend the entire story describing the sex act. That's a pathetic excuse for story-telling, and you know it. If you write something like that, expect the more intelligent users around here to point out the serious lack of story-telling. See, if you weren't so caught up in your own self-righteousness, you'd see that the goal of the group is to create more intelligently written stories. Stories that are actually stories, not something mindless that is sex and nothing else. If I wanted to fap, I'd go to a porn site or perhaps Equestria After Dark. When I come here, I want to read stories, not glorified pornos.

make sure yours is perfect.

There's a huge difference between perfect and acceptable. I replied to your post, and corrected a lot of your mistakes. Hopefully that'll set you straight. I wasn't trying to say, "oh emm gee, Mister Fluttershy isn't perfect!"

My intended meaning was, "Wow, Mister Fluttershy, have you even graduated middle school?"

Secondly, the idea is constructive criticism.

No, it's not. As per his words, his actions on my fic's comments are indicative of the appropriate behavior for the group. What did he do?

-He was admittedly rude, and when I asked him why, he indicated that it was because, and I quote, he was "pissed at the time."

-He continued to talk down about the fic, without giving a review, for some time.

-When I finally demanded a review, he gave me one, however, it was fraught with bias and completely useless. When forced to analyze it properly, he realized that my fic was actually quite good, but he would not relent. He proceeded to rate my fic as though it was a regular fic with clop, rather than a clopfic, which is useless to me as an author. Yeah, of course, if I was writing a fic that wasn't centered around clop, it should include more things that aren't clop, but this fic is centered around clop. I'm quite good at writing things that aren't clop, but this time I only wanted to write clop.

-He proceeded to play with the numbers in a preposterous way in order to force my total score below 70%, just so he could say, "haha, look, your fic sucks." It wasn't a real review, there was no constructive criticism. In the end, it all came down to "I don't like this kind of fic, therefore this fic is bad."

If you're gonna write something with sex, explain why. Have a story behind it.

Have you read my fic? I assure you, there was a build up. There were emotions. There was conflict. It wasn't just, "Oh, hi, Rarity, I'm Rainbow Dash, let's screw, unf-unf-unf-goodbye." I spent 3000 words building up the scenario before any actual sex took place. Of the 3000 cloppy words that followed, not even 2000 are actually a description of sex-acts. My fic was 1/3 sex, 2/3 plot and character development, and yet, Mister Fluttershy assaulted it full-force.

Stories that are actually stories, not something mindless that is sex and nothing else.

Stories that are only about sex are still stories.

If I wanted to fap, I'd go to a porn site or perhaps Equestria After Dark. When I come here, I want to read stories, not glorified pornos.

Again, here's the primary problem of Mister Fluttershy's group; "I don't personally like it, therefore, it shouldn't be allowed." That's detestable.

Take me, for example; I can't imagine getting off to text. I can hardly get off to ponies at all. And yet, I've never had a problem with cloppers, clop art, or clop fics, because I understand that other people like things that I don't, and I think that's perfectly fine. I didn't seek them out and berate them for their involvement in a fetish at any point in my life. I'm not even asking for respect, I'm asking for simple tolerance. Is that really too much?

If you don't want to read one-shot clopfics, here's an awesome solution! Use this simple algorithm;

-Is the fic tagged "sex"? (If not, read away)
-If the fic has the "sex" tag, does the fic have fewer than 10,000 words? (If not, read away)
-If the fic has far less than 10,000 words, is it marked, "complete"? (If not, read away)
-Did you answer yes to all three questions? (If so, this is probably a one-shot clopfic. Go read something else.)

Dayum. Have I met another fellow Grammar Nazi?

Well, I enjoyed reviewing your post. I have a major problem with people bashing at a fic just because their marshmallow ponies are being mashed together in a sexual manner. I'm surprised I am where I am today, for the fact that half of my stories are clop. I think...

But, anyways, I mostly came here because I was deeply offended when the 'Anti-Clop' group put your story in the 'Attack!' folder. Especially when they said 'one-shot' only. Honestly, you have 3 chapters, not one. Are they slightly under the average IQ?

Anyways, keep writing. I'll defend your work, as well as mine! :rainbowkiss:

Lord have mercy on your soul, Reverse Clopper, for I have none.

Let's see... No sense of humor, no sense of decency, no self-respect, and mindless zombie-like behavior?

Yup, sounds like you lack a soul.

...Or maybe you're just an idiot. :rainbowlaugh:
