Calm Wind

We writers do not speak. We do not hear. We have no songs. We have no pictures. We only have scripture. From words we bring images. From words we bring emotion. From words we bring life.

Chapter 179 update! · 12:04am Feb 3rd, 2021

🤔

Hey there everyone, just a quick update on where things currently are.

Im afraid that i havent made as much progress as i would have liked by this point. As most of you know, i work for an investment fund and those of you who have been following social/alternative media over the past two weeks may be aware that some really strange/weird/irrational things have been happening in the financial world. As a result i've been stuck at work late pretty much every day for nearly the past two weeks as well.

Needless to say, this has cut into my writing time pretty hard, so im currently behind where i want to be, but such is life, we roll with the punches. I'm doing my best to get back up to speed, but expect a delay because im currently very swamped.

So hang in there, the chapter is being worked on, just not as productively as i'm usually able to be. I'll have it out as soon as i can.

Don't worry, I will wait as long as it takes. I know that great writing takes time :)

You work for an investment fund?

Oi vey, I do not envy you. Goodluck buddy!

it's been a weird two weeks :derpyderp1:

$GME GO BRRRRR

In all seriousness, as much as I love the idea of the little guys sticking it to the mega-traders, I do realise that its very much upsetting the system and making a nightmare for people in your position. You have my sympathy.

Also the frame of mind that's come of the "little guy upsetting the megatraders" has been way too broadly expanded. There is a particular brand of big market trader that definitely deserves it (the cocky ones who go on tv to announce what they are doing and talk up or trash a stock to try and influence moves), but the theme of the whole thing got heavily twisted into a class war of sorts as if anyone who has made money in the stock market either big or small from a fund scale is suddenly an enemy regardless of their actions or if they'd kept their trades to themselves.

A lot of rhetoric is being thrown around about stock market practices and functions too but with little apparent knowledge of how what they're talking about actually works. Though it doesnt help that all they're really seeing are, again, the people who go on TV to pump their own books or lash out at them for hurting their investments. Everything in between like the small firm i work for and potential damage done to money under management for some fund clients has been forced down out of sight.

It does seem as though the dust is starting to clear though, but it is disheartening to see a lot of people who believed it was all something it wasnt lose a lot of money as a result. :applejackunsure:

Take your time! A late but good chapter is better than an on time and rushed chapter.

best of luck man, hope you manage

Take as much time as you need. Life is very hard right now and we need to get through as much as we can, even if it means cutting into something else.
