My Next Project

Greetings. It’s been a while but chances are, if you are reading this then I’m here to tell you of my newest project. Want to know what it is? Simple.

As of February 1st, almost 20 years of Power Rangers seasons are going to be removed from the Netflix streaming platform. Basically every season except the first three seasons of Mighty Morphin Power Rangers, Ninja Steel and Beast Morphers is going to be gone. Not only that but also Big Bad Beetleborgs (+ Beetleborgs Metallix), VR Troopers and Ninja Turtles: The Next Mutation are also going too. That’s a lot of content being removed & the sad thing is that we don’t know where they’ll end up.

The blame is squarely on Hasbro. Since obtaining the Power Rangers franchise from Saban in 2018, the company has done everything possible to undo everything that Haim Saban had done. Sure, Saban may have been hands-off with Power Rangers during the Neo Saban Era but what he had done really gave us fans a reason to enjoy Power Rangers. There are also rumors and I really don’t know if they are true or not but Power Rangers Dino Fury will probably be the last live-action Power Rangers show we’ll get. Made no better by the rumor that Hasbro is severing ties with Toei and it gets worse. Because Hasbro is trying to promote Power Rangers in other countries, it means that Toei can’t promote Super Sentai in America. This is just bad. Very bad. It sucks even more that Power Rangers and Super Sentai are caught in this bitter hold between Hasbro and Toei. Made worse is Shout Factory. They have to contend with this too because they can’t do Sentai DVD releases. Sure you can buy them whenever but the fact they can’t do more really sucks. Originally they were planning to bring Chikyuu Sentai FIveman but Hasbro put the kibosh on it. It pisses me off because I really hoped that Shout Factory would do the later Sentai especially Bakuryuu Sentai Abaranger and Tokusou Sentai Dekaranger. Those were awesome.

But I know what you are thinking. What is this project about? It’s two-fold. I plan on making a video where you can have the opportunity to not only express your appreciation for Power Rangers & Super Sentai but also to tell Hasbro, Netflix and even Shout Factory that we need more. We need Power Rangers back on Netflix or a streaming platform where everyone can watch. We need Hasbro to loosen their grip on the Power Rangers franchise. Give Toei the opportunity to promote Sentai to people in overseas. It’s a reason why many of us prefer to watch fansubs of Sentai rather than wait for companies to actually consider. It’s a big project and I hope that everyone can have an opportunity to join in. I will be working on a video discussing it. So I have to ask... are you with me? #FreePowerRangers #FreeSuperSentai
