Advertisement Algorithms. · 2:45pm Jan 25th, 2021
As many of you know, our browsing history is bought and sold so that we can have advertisements sent to us. If we watch a few episodes of MLP, you get Monster Math Ads on Youtube, if you look up a hat once so that you can describe it in a Jinglemas story then you'll always see that ugly orange hat on your screen to remind you, "Hey, you search me up one time, remember me?" We've all had instances where our browsing history has been used to sell us something, and I can't actually complain about it too much. If it weren't for this system, I wouldn't be the proud owner of an Air Fryer, which I would recommend to anyone who has $80 and is tired of regular microwaved chicken nuggets and hard to make french fries. Seriously, I'd probably throw out my Microwave if it weren't for the fact that I can't cook soup in an air fryer. Just be careful about delivery, they don't hide the fact that they're shipping an Air Fryer to you and I'm pretty sure it was almost stolen from my doorstep when I went out to get it.
Anyway, these advertisements target us based on our search history and what websites we visit. So, I have to wonder, how the hell did I get a 2019 ad for kilts?
Would it be weird if I was also mildly interested in buying a kilt? For a friend of course! I mean, why would I want to experience the freedom of a skirt made for men? That's weird, totally weird. Now excuse me, I have to read pony fan fiction about the Doomslayer getting his reincarnated rabbit back from a magical pegasus.
It’s cuz the YouTube algorithm is a mess
Bizarre.
I was actually looking at kilts today.
One side of my family has Scottish roots, and it got me thinking about kilts and tartan fabric.
So you got sent my ad recommendation, huh?
Can I place my order with you, laddie?
For a while Youtube was putting anal lube adds on some specific channels, I've been getting hit with a ton of political ads for a party I can't stand and ads to support isolation camps <-- worst things ever. YouTube has also had a ton of ads for highly illegal NFA items, you tube makes a big fuss about their community guidelines yet at the same time had ads for items being sold illegally Lafo Auto was one company advertising for over a year, BATF shut them down, youtube still had their ads up after they got shut down.
Had Seamus Kennedy come to Alaska, he wore a Kilt 1 time it was -40F, he never wore a kilt again from the airport when he came to Alaska he would change after he got to where he was going to perform then change back before he left.
Screw kilts, get a robe. Robes are where it's at. All the comfort of both a shirt and pants, much easier to take on and off, and you can look like a [fabulous] wizard. There are no drawbacks (except for them going against practically any dress code that's not for Medieval Times, but who really cares? Just wear them at home). While some may think they're unprofessional, just tell them they're wrong that it's okay, because you can work more efficiently with the robes, meaning that the good will outweigh the bad.
Also, what's that fanfic's name? Sound's great.5442076
FlutterDoomshy. It's Estee's latest story, and currently the top of the featured list. I'd definitely recommend checking it out, it's cute, funny, and absolutely heart warming and wrenching at the same time.
